Tsumugi-no-Sato
An activity workshop located in Yuki City, famous for its Yuki-tsumugi pongee, situated on the grounds of Yuki Castle 20 minutes from the Sakuragawa-Chikusei interchange on the Kita-Kanto Expressway and 30 minutes from the Sano-Fujioka interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. Located in a quiet area surrounded by greenery, here visitors can try hataori loom weaving and aizome indigo dyeing. Using a rebuilt takabata loom, visitors can weave a coaster using threads in the colors of their choice in about 30 minutes. Visitors can also tie-dye a handkerchief or bandana using traditional aizome indigo dyeing techniques, or even bring in their own cloth or T-shirt to dye (an advance reservation is required to bring your own item for dyeing).
