A long-standing shop which sells Nishinouchi washi Japanese paper, a craft designated a Prefectural and National Intangible Cultural Property. The shop sells Nishinouchi washi and finished goods and also operates as a museum with exhibits on Nishinouchi washi and handmade papers from around the world. Nishinouchi washi is a high quality, sturdy paper made with Nasu kozo (paper mulberry) and was once valued as a monopoly good of the former Mito Domain. The facility offers papermaking demonstrations and sukie paper art classes (advance reservation required), making it easy for visitors to experience the world of this traditional craft.

漉き絵を体験してその作品を後から家まで送ってもらいました。中は充実の和紙の博物館のようですが、いろいろな製品を買うこともできます。漉き絵は集中力がいりますが絵心のある人には楽しい体験です。

滲まず引き裂き強度が高い和紙製造工程から体験まで楽しめます原料の楮やミツマタが生で見れました紙すきの独特な匂いが好きですこういう文化の源を大切にしたいしもっと多くの人が見てもらいたいと心休まる和紙資料館でした
