Yagisawa Dam
This multipurpose dam was constructed at the uppermost part of the Tone River and is located approximately 45 minutes from the Kan’etsu Expressway Minakami Interchange. This precious water source, also known as the Kanto Water Bottle, is a 131-meter vertical height concrete arch dam that was completed in 1967. Lake Okutone, which was formed with the completion of this dam has been selected as one of Top 100 Dam Lakes and is the largest in Okutone. The surrounding beech forest is reflected in the still lake water, and its beauty stands out especially well when the trees are green or turning red in the autumn. The lake is inaccessible in the winter from early December to early May.
