This is a prefectural park of about 1,290 hectares in size, at the top of Mt. Akagi surrounded by nature, approximately 60 minutes from the Akagi Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway. The facility displays information on the current state and structure of Mt. Akagi through its animals, plants and geological features. In addition to exhibitions on the history and beautiful nature of Mt. Akagi, there is also a rest house, a tourist information office, and trekking maps are available to purchase. Visitors can use it as a base for sightseeing and hiking in the region. The facility is barrier free and suitable for wheelchairs.

榛名湖畔で乗馬体験は素敵な思い出になる

ビジターセンターの駐車場を利用しました。かなりの台数を止められる駐車場で馬が居ます。ふじこちゃんと言う名のメス馬で400キロ有るそうです。馬主さん所有の中で、一番大きい馬で120キロ迄の人が乗っても大丈夫だとか。駐車場の周りを乗馬体験出来て2000円でした。
赤城山で見られる植物について学べる

2019年11月に訪れました。覚満淵の遊歩道を利用するのに駐車場を利用し、散策後になりましたがビジターセンターで赤城山で見られる動植物に関する展示を見ました。似通った植物の見分け方など、ちょうど知りたかったことが書かれてあって勉強になりました。

県立赤城公園ビジターセンターは覚満淵の傍にあり、この看板は、県立赤城公園の覚満淵の案内図で、散策コースがあります。すぐ上には鳥居峠がありそこから覚満淵が一望できます。県立赤城公園ビジターセンターが覚満淵の道向こうにありそこに車を停めているので、一応トイレを借り、中も見てみます。付近の動植物の展示と冬季オリンピックのスキーメダリストの猪谷千春さんの展示がありました。鳥居があるので赤城神社...
