こぢんまりとした道の駅

国道185号沿いにあり、竹原の観光スポットである町並み保存地区からも近い。1階の売店と2階の観光情報コーナーで土産物などを販売している。こぢんまりとした道の駅なので、最近増えている大規模な道の駅を期待していくとガッカリするかも。
小さい駐車場

こちらの駐車場に停めて、竹原の街並み観光地をしようと思いましたが、満車になっており警備の方に別の駐車場の地図をわたされ、こちらには寄れませんでした。わかりにくい地図で、どちらかに出るとの指示もなく…こういった所が、いまいち有名になれない所だと感じました。
