Very pleasant place
It is a huge park in and around a Kameyama Hill. It is very well maintained, and so you cannot lose your way. The view from the top is very beautiful.

元々は６基の毛利家の当主の像が有りました。
ザビエル記念聖堂の観光帰りに寄りました。小高い丘の上が平らな広場になっていて幕末の毛利本家藩主毛利敬親の像があります。
元々は合計６基の毛利家分家の当主の像が有ったそうですが第２次世界大戦中の銅の供出で無くなり現在に至っています。辛うじて広場は整備されて毛利敬親の像のみ再現されました。

公園に至った経緯が面白い。教育に欠かせない。

・なぜ公園になったのだろうか。城跡ではなく築城しようとして出来なかったから、跡地を公園にしようとした先祖の姿勢に高評価。
・公園は広く、美術館に博物館に聖堂と山口の知の財産が集結。
