Reviewed:2019/09/06 Tourist information for Fukui
Lots of leaflets/pamphlets with information about tourist spots, as well as cafes and restaurants, and events, around Fukui city centre, and further out in Fukui city and the prefecture. Worth a look...
Reviewed:2019/07/08 Very helpful staff -- English spoken
Very nice Center with English speaking staff. They only had 3 English maps as handouts; could use more.
Reviewed:2016/05/18 awesomely friendly staff, speak English well, go out of their way for you
The tourist office moved to a round glass building next to the new mall outside the train station. We were there on their opening day, and the staff there were super nice, spoke English really well...

Northeast of Kyoto, the ancient Tojinbo Cliffs separate Fukui prefecture from the Sea of Japan in a stretch of land well worth exploring. Water sports and seaside delicacies are available in abundance as the spectacular rugged coastline flattens down into beaches to the west of the prefecture, while inland, Fukui is home to Zen Buddhist temples and historic ruins.
