竹原の町並み保存地区にある、古い商家の建物です。建物の前にはハートの模様に彫刻された格子があります。

屋根の形が独特な、塩田で財を成した松阪家のお屋敷である。駅前の観光案内所で1つだけ行くならココとのお勧めであったが、少し残念であった。
少し駅寄りのNPOが運営する無料の古民家の方が説明もあり印象は良かった。
