西郷隆盛像の向かいにある古い建物。1927年昭和2年竣工の旧鹿児島市公会堂。現在は公民館として、各種行事やイベント等につかわれています。外観も内装も装飾が美しい建物で、国の登録有形文化財に指定されています。
