It’s a popular holiday destination for locals, but compared to other pockets of Aichi, generally quite overlooked by international travellers, spend some time getting to know this well-kept holiday secret and no doubt you’ll find it hard to leave.

The hotel’s rooms are impressive, but their most striking feature is without a doubt the large windows that overlook the neighboring ocean. As you stare out onto the seemingly infinite horizon, you’ll be able to spot Kaji Island, floating somewhere between Mikawa and Chita Bay. Although the views from the rooms are stunning all day long, as the hours pass by and the day rolls into evening, you can admire the natural light show that happens as the sun sets, painting the sky and surrounding landscape an almost psychedelic tinge of purple, orange and red. You can rent both western style rooms, and Japanese tatami mat, futon bedrooms, which typically offer more flexible sleeping options that can accommodate a number of guests.
