In particular, German-style Christmas markets seem to be an annual fascination in Japan. Here are 11 best Christmas markets and events for those who are searching for a special handmade ornament, or just want to drink some hot wine or simply want to be happy and feel festive.
Roppongi Hills Christmas 2020
Roppongi Hills Christmas 2020 is a Germanstyle Christmas market to be held at Oyane Plaza (the roofed area when you walk around the building from the main plaza) between November 13th to December 25th 2020. Inside the open space with a roof, visitors will not need to worry about weather and enjoy selections of 7 shops that sell German craft beer, grills and other authentic German food, as well as Christmas goods. From November 20th, a 6.5 meter tall Christmas tree will be open to the public.
Ice Skating at MIDTOWN WINTER MOMENTS
Under the theme of “ANOTHER WORLD”, throughout the day, visitors can enjoy different events at MIDTOWN WINTER MOMENTS held at Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi between November 19 to December 25 2020.
Of all, a temporary outdoor ice skating rink due to open between November 19 2020 to February 28 2021 is an annual popular spot for skating during the winter months. The rink will be lit up during the night creating a magical moment surrounded by city lights and skyscrapers all around.
Christmas Market in Hibiya Park
The Tokyo Christmas Market 2020 in Hibiya Park will be held at the Fountain Square in Hibiya Park between December 10 to 25, 2020. Based on the motif of the traditional German Christmas market, the market will bring together eateries selling soup, stew, hot wine and Christmas sweets, as well as Christmas ornaments and woodworks. The venue is decorated with the world's largest Christmas pyramid brought from Germany and a wall of wreaths. There will be live music including opera.
Christmas Garden in Shiba Park
Christmas Garden is one of the largest Christmas events in Japan, held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Shiba Park No.4 Plaza. The venue is decorated with Christmas candles, candle arts and over 100 Christmas trees, and more than 200 different kinds of Christmas-themed food and drinks from over 100 different countries. The event will be held between December 4 to 25, 2020.
Baccarat ETERNAL LIGHTS
Baccarat Eternal Lights is held at Yebisu Garden Place in Ebisu between November 14 2020 to January 11 2021, where it incorporates a Baccarat chandelier that's 5m tall and 3m wide, making it one of the largest chandeliers in the world. To thank the health care workers, every day between 17:00 to 17:30, the chandelier will be lit up in blue.
SKYTREE ROUND THEATER®

During the Tokyo Skytree Town® Dream Christmas 2020 held between November 6 to December 25 2020, the entire area of Tokyo Skytree Town is decorated with approximately 400,000 warmly illuminated lights. Throughout the event, Tokyo Skytree will be lit up in green and champagne gold, as well as white and red, to resemble a candle. Of all, the Christmas-themed animation projected onto the windows at Tokyo Sky Tree observation deck is a show not to be missed. The show will be held 3 times per day at 17:30, 19:00 and 19:45.

SMALL WORLDS TOKYO
SMALL WORLDS TOKYO is one of the world's largest indoor miniature theme parks that just opened in June 2020, which span across six different worlds including the Space Center, Kansai International Airport, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion Tokyo-III, Neon Genesis Evangelion Cage and Global Village with five countries from Asia and Europe.
For their first Christmas event, there will be 2020 Santas placed in the park along with a Christmas-inspired photo booth and workshops.
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, one of the most visited amusement parks in Japan and houses an impressive aquarium will hold a Christmas event SEAPARADISE Christmas between November 20 to December 25, 2020. Under the theme of “Christmas gifts from Sea Para” divers dressed up in Santa Claus will feed the fishes as well as a show, "Super Sardine Illusion", where a group of 50,000 sardines will perform dynamic performances. And a number of other events will be held including special night shows only available over the weekends.
Mickey & Friends Greeting Parade
At Tokyo Disneyland, Mickey Mouse and his friends will appear in Santa Claus costumes in the "Mickey & Friends Greeting Parade", and at Tokyo DisneySea, Mickey Mouse and his friends will greet the guests with Santa Claus to the tune of Christmas songs in the “Mickey & Friends' Harbor Greetings". Both parks will be decorated in special Christmas designs and will be selling a number of limited items as well as food. The event will be held between November 10 to December 25 2020.

WINTER WONDERLAND in MOOMINVALLEY PARK EMPOWERED BY CALAR.ink will be held at Moomin Valley Park in Hanno, Saitama, about an hour away from central Tokyo. The event will be held between November 21 2020 to March 7 2021, where throughout the day and night, there will be a variety of content using light, sound and projection mapping, allowing visitors to experience the winter at Moomin Valley Park in a magical setting. While this area requires additional cost, over at the free area, there will be a Christmas market held between October 31 to December 25 2020.
