Their Shibuya store has a range of original items around the concept of “ultimate basic”, as well as limited-edition goods that you can’t find at the Shinjuku main store. Hiyoke Noren design

Aside from its unique clothing and accessories, the Beams Japan Shibuya store is also making statements in its design, with wooden pillars and beams in a distinctly Japanese architectural style. Decorating the ceiling is an image by artist Kads Miida of “Fujin" and “Raijin" who are the gods of wind and lightning in Japanese mythology. Also adding to the Japanese design aesthetic is the Hiyoke Noren at the entrance, with these traditional Japanese room dividers used by old merchant shops.

Locally-made handicrafts

Aside from its signature clothing and accessories, Beams Japan Shibuya also sells locally-made handicrafts and gourmet goods that are difficult to find elsewhere. These include mochi sweets from Akafuku, which was established more than 300 years ago as a teahouse for pilgrims visiting the Ise Grand Shrine. Also of note is the store’s popular Obitsu Kewpie, a sophisticated vinyl toy that glows in the dark.

Hachiko Logo Print T-shirt

While shopping at Beams Japan Shibuya, keep an eye out for their limited-edition items that you won’t be able to find at the Shinjuku store. These include the Hachiko Logo Print T-shirt (6,380 yen, incl. tax) that features the words “Shibuya” and the loyal dog Hachiko, as well as being available in a long-sleeve version (8,580 yen, incl. tax).

Scramble Crossing items

You can also find the Scramble Crossing/Traffic Safety Cap (6,380 yen, incl. tax), which honors the famous traffic crossing located nearby.

Shibuya-limited Field Watch

Another item exclusive to the store is the Shibuya-limited Field Watch (16,500 yen, incl. tax), with an illuminated dial and reflective strap so that it’s easy to see in the dark.

If you’re looking for a souvenir of your time in Shibuya, then Beams Japan Shibuya’s items with the words “Shibuya” are ideal. You can find printed logo tees and long-sleeve shirts with the works of local artists and accompanied by the text “Shibuya”, as well as caps with Japanese characters. In addition, the store has recently released the “Beams Eye on City Guide”, which offers insights and recommendations by their staff for a unique perspective on 16 departments in Japan.
