Geek out at the new Shibuya Parco!

After a 2 year make-over, the new Shibuya Parco is now equipped with all the new toys — quite literally. Parco is typically all about the latest fashion in clothes, but with the new & improved Shibuya Parco, it now comes with a Pokemon Center, the first Nintendo store in Japan and even utilizes the latest AR technology to spicen things up.

With Shibuya Parco now housing 193 stores, spending a whole day here isn't a stretch of the imagination. Let's look at some of the highlights.

    Nintendo Tokyo

Nintendo Tokyo is the first official Nintendo store in Japan. Not only will you be able to purchase game consoles, software, and character goods like you'd expect, but you can also play the latest Nintendo games in the "experience space".

Another rare sight to see is the collaboration between Pokemon and Nintendo. On the 6th floor, right next to Nintendo Toyko is Pokemon Center Shibuya. They have joined forces to bring you specialty items in the "Super Mario x Pokemon 8 BIT Scramble" series. A superb delight for those who are fans of both franchises.

    Pokemon Center Shibuya

    Pokemon Center Shibuya

    Pokemon Center Shibuya

A life-size Mewtwo animatronic, originally designed limited pokemon goods, and what good would a pokemon center be without a giant dancing graffiti artist Pikachu prancing around the store. And just like the Nintendo Tokyo store, it also has "Super Mario x Pokemon 8 BIT Scramble" goods on sale.

In collaboration with Japan's leading graffiti artist "Number-D", there's a range of newly designed pokemon goods. The word that pops into mind is "rad". Most definitely a new take on Pokemon goods.

    Capcom Tokyo

    Ryu's hadouken

    Ryu's hadouken

On the same 6th floor, we now have the first official Capcom store in Tokyo. Get merchandise from a range of franchises such as Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Rockman, Devil May Cry and Street Fighter.

The first thing you'll notice before entering the store is the Ryu statue where he's dealing out his famous Hadouken. The Hadouken even lights up!

Many items caught my eye like the Monster Hunter neck-tie, but nothing came close to the "Capcom Mini Perfume Collection". Unfortunately there wasn't a smell test corner, so you can only find out what Dante smells like if you go through with the purchase.

    Tokyo Otaku Mode

This is where things get really nerdy. Or as they say in Japanese, "Otaku". The Tokyo Otaku Mode store also resides on the 6th floor. This classy little store has all kinds of otaku goods from anime figurines to wearable glasses. The amount of detail on these figurines is amazing.

The price can vary greatly depending on which souvenir you're looking at. If you find your wallet to be a size 0, you can always try one of their Gachapon machines.
