GACHAGACHA COFFEE - A unique Roppongi coffee brewery experience

GACHAGACHA COFFEE gives you a choice to choose from six different types of coffee beans — the word "Gacha" comes from Gachapon where capsule toys are sold from vending machines. After obtaining your preferred bean capsule from the machine, you will be the one who makes it from here on out. Think IKEA for coffee making.

Gatchapon coffee machines

The overall visual design was created by the award-winning Japanese design firm "nedo". The interior design creates a sense of calm while also giving off a modern yet futuristic schick look that we have all come to expect when visiting Roppongi Hills.

Black X Bronze design

The coffee beans are produced by the famous Japanese coffee roasting brand "Maruyama" from Karuizawa. Ranging from deep to light roasted coffee beans that come from different sources. They even have a limited number of "mysterious beans".

Choose your Gachapon machine numbered from 1 to 5. Insert your 500 yen coin, then turn the lever to get your coffee beans. If you're feeling adventurous, choose the "?" gachapon machine. Aim to get the Gacha with the star mark; it will contain a secret high-grade type of coffee beans.

These are the contents of what is inside the capsule. *There will be an inscription of the coffe bean type.

Follow the instructions on the table. Pour the coffee beans into the grinder and press the switch. In less than 20 seconds, the ground coffee powder will be finished! Remove the filter containing the coffee powder from the opening at the bottom of the workbench.

There are Japanese and English instructions on the bean grinding workbench.

Pour the coffee beans and wait for fresh ground coffee powder to come out

When brewing, you can choose two kinds of brewing methods: “EXPRESS” and “RICH”. Place the filter and paper cup on the iron frame. After selecting the brewing method, just wait for around 1.5 - 3 minutes, and a cup of freshly brewed coffee will be ready for your taking.

It is recommended that you arrive at the observation deck half an hour before sunset. Take your DIY freshly brewed coffee and enjoy the view of an illuminated Tokyo.
