Orbi is a new kind of museum that lets you feel the wonder of nature in an indoor space. The exhibits are a fusion of digital content with real-world experiences, and there are plenty of chances to interact with actual animals. You can see things like capybaras, toucans, and armadillos in the Animal Garden, or pet 12 different types of cats in Cat Paradise. It’s a quick 5-minute walk through the rain to get to the Ramen Museum. Opened in 1995, the concept was to have the best ramen from all over the country in one spot, so you could get the noodles without the travel. Inside is a trip back to the Shōwa era, complete with retro buildings, neon lights, and grimy signs. The ramen is no joke, either. They have vastly different styles from locales ranging from Hokkaido to Kyushu, as well as candy shops and a few cafes. A warm bowl of ramen on a rainy day isn’t a bad alternative, and you can pick up a souvenir from the museum shop, too.
