Bear Pond Espresso
Bear Pond Espresso
Are you a true coffee lover? Then you should definitely go to this hard-core coffee shop. The owner (who is also a barista) is quite serious about coffee. In addition, all of the store’s other well-trained baristas are serious about keeping this coffee shop outstanding in the coffee world. Their creations are almost artworks in themselves. The different characteristics of their coffee beans and the chemistry of how they are blended really shape their roasts. Their top recommendation is the T*O*P・B.P.E signature latte for 550 yen.

This coffee shop has been in business for over 30 years. That is unusual in Shimokitazawa where lots of businesses come and go in a short space of time! The retro atmosphere will allow you to feel elegant in this sub-culture centered town. Their two types of blended coffee are both amazing. Their most popular menu item is the Cheesecake Set. In this set, you’ll receive a cheesecake with blended coffee and it only costs 850 yen (900 yen if you order an iced coffee with the cheesecake instead).

ON THE WAY
ON THE WAY
Sweet cupcakes never disappoint when accompanying tasty coffee. ON THE WAY is a new hybrid of coffee stand, blending coffee and cupcakes in a tiny cafe. While the coffee itself is suburb, the cafe is even better known for its American style cupcakes. Pink, yellow, blue, and green…their colorful and fun cupcakes are adorable and the flavors are unique too. The cupcake flavors are seasonal, so you better go and check out what's new! On the way home, before lunch or after dinner, stop by this shop to make your day happier!

W/O STAND
W/O STAND
Great coffee with impressive coffee cups. The W/O stand originated in Kobe and now they have one in Shimokitazawa. The cool thing about them is stickers on their cups. Each stand has its own sticker. If you are traveling different cities where there is W/O STAND, you can collect and compare their stickers! They release one month limited drinks every month, too. Those usually look like dessert with heaps of whipped cream. Enjoy limited dessert drinks in original cups!
