Japan's fastest cherry-blossom viewing FLOWERS BY NAKED in 2019

So if you love Sakura and want to celebrate the upcoming cherry blossom viewing season in style, don’t miss FLOWERS BY NAKED’s unique events. In this guide, we’ll explain what you can expect during the celebration and the limited edition products that are being released to mark the occasion.

大桜彩(OUSAI 2019)

Directed by creative company NAKED Inc, “FLOWERS BY NAKED” is an event that celebrates Japan’s cherry blossoms through unique installations and artistic spaces. It’s the fourth year the event is taking place, with immersive spots created around Tokyo to host a variety of happenings.

Bamboo Whisper

A cherry-blossom viewing space “大桜彩(OUSAI 2019)" will be created to symbolize Japan’s fastest cherry-blossom viewing, with the Art Space literally wrapped 360 degrees in cherry blossoms. In the same area, you can enjoy this magnificent cherry blossom viewing experience with a limited edition drink created by Lipton for the FLOWERS BY NAKED event. The tea house space will imitate kawayuka (which translates as “river floor”) and harks back to years gone by when the Japanese would enjoy their tea amidst natural scenery.

In addition, a collaborative event will take place with Akane Teshigahara who is the master of the Sogetsu school of Kado. It combines Ikebana (the art of flower arranging) and advanced digital technologies, such as videos and sounds, while drawing on the theme of “Tea Room”

Moreover, Souhitsu Hachiya(who is the next master of the Shino School of Incense KODO) supervised the work “Windows of the Ancient and Modern”, which is a collaboration between tradition and innovation. It combines fragrance and space production around the theme of “Waka”, with nine of the 12 titles being new releases and seen for the first time this year.

HOKUSAI Art

A bar will be created for this special event where original drinks of Lipton × FLOWERS BY NAKED will be available. Known as “The Secret of Secret Garden”, the bar will be themed as FLOWERS BY NAKED's world laboratory.

In addition to enjoying drinks featuring Lipton's seasonal Sakura tea, you can also soak up the beautiful scenery of the cherry blossoms. At the back of the bar is a hidden space with an aroma machine where you can enjoy the fragrance of 12 different scents and discover your very own.

For one night only at the Tokyo Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall, a special live performance titled "Ikebana Sogetsu × FLOWERS BY NAKED Old Imabashi Wataru” will take place. Hosted by the Naked Creative Team and Takayuki Fukazawa of the Ikebana Sogetsu style, it features bamboo, lights, sounds and images that will blend into one fantastic bloom. The event will highlight the cultures that blossomed during the Edo period and continue to evolve today, fusing tradition with modern-day innovations.

If you’ve ever wanted to be wrapped in the scent of cherry blossoms, then the Estee Lauder × FLOWERS BY NAKED Sakura Bubble is for you. The company has manufactured a Micro Essence Lotion Fresh that releases the fragrance of cherry blossoms, with an imaginary scene of bubbles floating all around. It features ingredients extracted from the cherry blossoms and has a light texture that brings a fresh shine to the skin.

Estee Lauder cosmetics

In addition, Estee Lauder will release a limited edition Sakura print cap for their Pure Color Envy Lipsticks to celebrate the collaboration with FLOWERS BY NAKED. The lipstick is vibrant in color and has a creamy finish that creates a three-dimensional look.

The limited edition caps with Sakura Prints will be released with the sale of Envy Lipsticks at the Estee Lauder counters of select department stores.
