  • Miyagi Zao Sumikawa Snow Park

    This ski resort is located about 20 minutes by car on the Zao Echo Line from Togatta Onsen. Besides skiing, they offer a variety of activities such as snowshoe trekking, snow monster (snow bound tree) viewing tours, and tours up to Mt. Zao’s snowy crater. It’s fun for the whole family with many slopes for everyone from beginners to advanced level skiers. From Kumowaku Terrace on the roof of the rest house you can enjoy a meal while taking in the amazing view of clouds welling up from the Kumowaku Valley.
  • Jeunesse Kurikoma Ski Resort
    Akita ken Ogaki-gun Higashisease village Chuncheon Yanagisawa 39-7
    This ski resort is on the western slope of Mt. Yakeishi in Kurikoma Quasi-National Park. It has 12 runs including its 2,500-meter Clair Course. The gently sloping Rose Course accessed via the No. 1 Lift is good for beginners, and the Mort Course with a highest gradient of 40 degrees is a powder zone for advanced level skiers with confidence in their skills. Their Elle Course is the resort’s most popular run, a full-on trail that’s used for competitions like the Jeunesse Cup.
  • Niseko Hanazono Resort

    This is one of the Niseko United resorts, along with Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Village, and Niseko Grand Hirafu. It’s located northeast of Niseko Annupuri. Freestyle items like jibs, kickers, and quarter pipes are added as needed at Hanazono Park. It’s Hokkaido’s largest terrain park and holds freestyle events. It has lots of other ways to have fun, too, like guided powder tours and a tube park.
  • Adatara Resort
    Fukushima-ken Nihonmatsu-shi Okudake Onsen
    This ski resort is approximately 20 minutes by car from Nihonmatsu Interchange. It is located on the mountainside of Mt. Adatara which is one of Japan’s 100 most famous mountains. Surrounded by rich nature and easy access of only three hours from the metropolitan area is attractive. Good powder snow and different varieties of ski courses can be enjoyed from beginners to advanced skiers. The kid’s park separated from the ski slopes is recommended for families to play in the snow safely. In the restaurant visitors can enjoy an extensive menu of curries and ramen noodles.
  • Listel Ski Fantasia
    Fukushima Pref. Yamaguninawashiromachi Listel Park
    A ski resort located in Inawashiro Town, Yama County, Fukushima Prefecture. The resort has seven courses for skiers to enjoy. During the off season, the resort offers activities such as an obstacle course and park golf. The resort also holds a marathon in which participants must run up the slope. The resort’s lodging facility has a hot spring bathhouse and restaurant and the resort attracts many tourists.
  • Numajiri Ski Resort

    A ski resort located in Inawashiro Town, Yama County, Fukushima Prefecture. Opened in 1915, this is the oldest ski resort in the Tohoku region. The resort has 11 courses for everyone from beginners to experts. The resort also has a kid’s park and other areas for families with children to enjoy. The resort’s restaurant serves croquettes branded by the resort’s squirrel mascot and other dishes. There’s also a hot spring bath facility nearby, and many local skiers come here.

    This ski resort is on Banseitairo Road in Banseichokariyasu, Yonezawa City. They have eight courses catering to skiers ranging from beginner to advanced, as well as lodges and a restaurant. They also offer various ski classes. Their “Yonezawa Family Golf” facility, open from May to late October, has a driving range for golf enthusiasts.
  • Hachimantai Resort (Shimokura Ski Area)
    Iwate Pref. Hachimantaishi Matsuoyoriki Matsukawa National Forest
    This ski resort is located in Towada-Hachimantai National Park at the foot of Mt. Iwate in northern Iwate Prefecture. It has two ski areas: the Panorama Ski Area and the Shimokura Ski Area. With a difference in elevation of 550 meters and a longest run of 2,700 meters, the Shimokura Area boasts a super high 70% chance of powder conditions and offers specialized powder skiing lessons. The Diamond Course starting from the top of the 3rd pair lift is the best non-compact snow run in the prefecture.
