    A hot spring hotel situated along the Niyodo River, Japan's cleanest river. The hotel's hot spring is a natural alkaline simple sulfur cold mineral spring.     This natural hot spring, located in Tosa City, Kochi Prefecture, is owned and operated by the Sanyo-so inn. The dark brown waters of the sodium calcium chloride spring, also known as the Ogon no Yu (Golden Hot Spring), are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, fatigue, women's diseases, sensitivity to cold, skin diseases, and hemorrhoids. The inn is located in a vast, open area with a panoramic view of the ocean off Tosa; a popular base for whale watching and local pilgrimages, the quality waters of the inn's baths, containing an abundance of natural, healing substances, soothe the bodies of weary travelers. The inn's hot spring bathing facilities are open to non-guests, as well, and there is also a footbath right next to the entrance free for anyone to use. The footbath also has a view of the sea, so those journeying through the area should be sure to stop by.
