Nago Pineapple Park is a pineapple theme park located on a plateau within Nago City. Visitors can travel through the park in fully-automatic “Pineapple Carts,” viewing the sub-tropical vegetation and the extensive pineapple fields. There is also a pineapple processing plant within the park; the plant has displays about everything to do with pineapples, and visitors can also view the pineapple-slicing process. In the shopping area, visitors can taste various pineapple-related beverage and food products, and buy souvenir gifts to take home.

The park although small, was pretty well organised for a 1-2 hour visit. From the parking lot, there will be a bus pickup through the pineapple fields with useful information on growing pineapples...

Onna no Eki Nakayukui Market is a local produce direct-sales market located by the side of National Highway 58, offering a wide range of local specialty products from Onna Village; the products on sale include fresh vegetables and fruit picked in the village, as well as handicraft products. Marine products are also on sale, including locally-caught Sea Grapes (Caulerpa Lentillifera), sashimi, tempura, etc. There are also quite a few places to eat in the market, including restaurants selling Okinawan Soba Noodles and Sata Andagi (Okinawan sweet deep-fried buns), fruit bars, etc.

This “market” includes a supermarket selling local produce and frequented almost entirely by local people, a food court that has customers who are both local and tourists, and souvenir shops...

This local restaurant uses a kominka (old house) centered on Asato residence, constructed in the late Meiji period (1868–1912). In the afternoon, in addition to Okinawan soba wheat noodles, you can enjoy their prided Agu pork dishes and steak using wagyu beef from the prefecture, and reservations are only available for the shabu-shabu course and wagyu steak. They only offer courses of Ryukyu dishes or Agu pork at night.

Make your reservations online as the place can be packed. We ordered the Agu pork shabu shabu set for 3 persons and really enjoyed the meat and the fresh vegetables. The resulting broth at the end...

A resort hotel beach located in Onna Village, one of Okinawa's top resort areas, a five-minute drive from the Ishikawa Interchange on the Okinawa Expressway. Boasting a sweeping view of glittering emerald green ocean, as its name implies, this natural beach is shaped like a half moon. Open to non-hotel guests, as well, visitors can take in the tropical atmosphere. In addition to swimming, a variety of marine activities like jet skiing are on offer. On one of the particularly popular cruises, you can take in the ocean and the area's natural beauty from Yo Island, an uninhabited coral island amidst a coral reef.

This hotel suffers from the same disease as most resort hotels do in Japan. They built it some decades ago and do not intend to refurbish it... But they keep the price of the room at a premium. The...

Kouri Ocean Tower on Kouri Island is situated in the sea north of the Motobu Peninsula. From the observatory tower at 82 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kouri Bridge and the beautiful blue ocean. Because you ride on a cart to the tower, you can relax while enjoying the sea breeze. You can take photos with the picturesque scenery in the background while you enjoy the lush subtropical garden. In the tower, as many as 10,000 shells including heart-shaped shells and colorful ones are exhibited. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy your meal while gazing at sea as well as a shop where a unique sweet only available in Kouri Island is sold directly from the factory.

This attraction is managed by the same team as the one at the Pineapple park and Ofuya restaurant, and they have this interesting but gimmicky automated cart ride up the small hill. There’s a small...

Busena Marine Park is located at Cape Busena, near Nago City. An underwater observatory has been built in the waters off the cape, providing a 360-degree view of the beautifully colored fish through 24 underwater windows. Glass-bottomed boats depart from the pier near the observatory, enabling visitors to “stroll” through the ocean. Please note that there is an admission charge for the observatory, and there is also a charge for the trips in the glass-bottomed boats (packages combining the two activities at a specially reduced price are available).

We had 2 activities; taking the glass-bottom boat and climbing down the water tower. Sailing out to the sea and looked at the sea bed through the glass at the bottom of the boat was quite an...

Emerald Beach is a Y-shaped beach near Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in the Ocean Expo Park. It is divided into three sections; one for playing, one for resting, and one for viewing, and the large beach can accommodate about 3,000 people at the same time. The beautiful sea is so transparent we can see the white sand on the ocean floor easily, and the beach has been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 bathing beaches.

Okinawa soba noodles have various tastes depending on the region. At this store, their hand-prepared and thin 100% wheat flour sea lettuce noodles using homemade sea lettuce without preservatives are popular. The soup base is rich with pork and bonito, but the noodles go perfectly with the simple soup. Fish cakes with sea lettuce, pork ribs, sea lettuce and red pickled ginger are used as topping.

It has been considered a holy site since ancient times, and four courses are available that introduce visitors to unusually shaped rocks, large rock formations, subtropical forest, and other natural scenery. There is also a barrier-free course for the elderly and children. Come enjoy the wondrous paradise formed by Nature’s own hand.

Neo Park Okinawa located in Nago City, the northern part of Okinawa Prefecture, is a natural botanical and zoological park. Animals and plants from tropical areas such as Central and South America, Oceania and Africa are grown without heat insulation by utilizing Okinawa’s rich climate and natural features. The free range farming method on the large property is like being in nature itself. You can enjoy an interactive animal experience unlike other flora and fauna parks.

The Neo park has a big area with birds that my son loves it so much. Besides that, the train ride at the park was his favorite and he got so excited to see different types of animals. The part...

Seaside Drive-in in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture is an American-style restaurant. It is open 24 hours, and everything on the menu which is a fusion of Japanese and Western is available for take-out. Despite the American-style facade, it is a fun place which has a range of antique toys and an aquarium where you can see tropical fish. It faces the sea so you can gaze at the beautiful sunset in the evening.

Loved the charm of the place. Our Okinawan friend took us here on our way to our hotel and we thought it was a lot of fun and great value for money!

Located in Motobu, Kunigami District near a municipal market, Kishimoto Shokudo is a famous, long-established Okinawan Soba noodles restaurant, which was founded in 1905. Kishimoto Shokudo’s second branch, the Yaedake Branch, is located to the east of the main branch on Prefectural Highway 84 near the entrance to Yae-dake (Mt. Yae). Using the same recipes as the main branch, the Yaedake Branch serves Okinawan Soba noodles with full-bodied noodles prepared using charcoal, and a simple broth, as well as Jushi (Okinawan rice porridge). As at the Main Branch, the entire menu basically consists of variations on these two items (diners can choose what size Soba noodles they want).

If you have gave this place a bad review it’s because your stupid and have no idea what your eating. The deal here is that this place is well over a hundred years old and the recipes haven’t...

Kishimoto Cafeteria is a long-established (founded in 1905) Okinawan Soba Noodles restaurant located in Motobu Town. The restaurant’s signature dish is its hand-made “Ash Soba Noodles,” made with broth derived from the clear upper layer of water that has had rice straw ash dissolved in it. The rich-flavored dried bonito soup stock and thick hand-made noodles have remained largely unchanged since the restaurant was first established. Kishimoto Cafeteria is very popular with both tourists and locals.

OKINAWA Fruits Land located in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture is a popular sightseeing place. It was refurbished in 2013 and reopened with the concept of an “interactive facility style / original story book” Tropical Kingdom Tale. You can learn about and enjoy the secret of fruit and the story of happiness and others through the tale. The “fruit zone” in the facility grows more than about 30 types of tropical fruit, such as papayas and mangos depending on the season. In the “shopping zone” you can try sweet pineapple. It also has a range of other facilities such as a restaurant, a café and a shop where you can buy souvenirs.

My first visit to Fruits Land was unexpected, i thought was a place like Pineapple Land but was totally different. It’s like a treasure hunt for kids, where they need to collect all fruits stamps...

Despite being located a two-hour drive from Naha Airport in Motobu Town, Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture, this Okinawa soba noodle restaurant is so popular, lines of waiting customers form outside its door. Operating out of an Okinawan style wooden Japanese home with a red tile roof, the restaurant's tatami mat seating gives it an old fashioned, Showa period atmosphere. The establishment's medium thick noodles are served in a fairly thick skipjack tuna based broth. Here customers can enjoy soki soba noodles topped with sweet and salty stewed spare rib, and san-mai niku soba topped with three strips of sweet and salty stewed boneless pork rib. Lines often form outside the door before the restaurant even opens and the establishment closes when supplies run out. This popular restaurant is frequently featured on television and in magazines.

There was a small queue of people waiting to get in when we arrived - a sign that the food was worth waiting for! The queue does move quickly though. They only have 2 dishes available, soba with pork...

Its name comes from an inscription engraved on the large temple bells of Shuri Castle's main hall, it means ""a bridge linking to the world."" It is famous as the venue used for the Kyushu-Okinawa Summit in 2000. The retro building built with uniquely Okinawan materials is its characteristic.
