This spot, which has been featured on television, allows visitors to enjoy Okinawa soba and seafood dishes. The atrium-style interior is designed after a traditional Japanese home, with 80 tatami mat seats and 10 tables. The extensive menu features everything from “Okinawa soba” to iced zenzai (red bean sweet). The soba noodles are firm and come with a light soup that complement them perfectly. The “seafood rice bowl” is a luxurious dish chock-full of the blessings of the sea.

The bonito soup is perfect and the soup is the best The store is located in an old folk house and the location is great I have eaten many Okinawa soba, but Hamaya here or Chatan is the best...

Shimujo near Sueyoshi Park is a restaurant located at 2-chome, Shurisueyoshi Town, Naha City. The shop occupies a traditional Japanese house with red roof tiles which has been designated as a national registered Tangible Cultural Property. A five-minute walk from Kencho-mae Station, this long-established dining hall was opened over fifty years ago. Okinawa-style set meals are offered at reasonable prices and with generous servings, making this a favorite spot among locals and tourists alike. It is open 24 hours a day year-round, with the exception of the first three days of the year and two days during the lunar calendar Bon Festival. In December 2016, the dining hall changed locations to a spot a one-minute walk away from its former location, so be careful not to go to the wrong address.

This new-style Ryukyu restaurant is where you can get a sense of the Ryukyu Kingdom and its history. Each floor from the ground floor to the third has a different theme based on the Ryukyu Kingdom. You should make a reservation for the room you want. Their popular menu items include double-lined fusilier pickled plum perilla tempura, Okinawan black king fish sashimi, mini braised pork rice bowls and a set meal with Okinawa soba wheatnoodles.

I’m so surprise why not much people to recommend this restaurant. Good taste, good location, and good environment.

The Airport Restaurant is located on the left-hand side of the first floor in the Arrivals building at Naha Airport. Although mainly intended for airport employees, non-employees are welcome to use the Restaurant, and many tourists eat there. Diners can enjoy classic Okinawa dishes such as Okinawa-style Soba Noodles, Chanpuru (a stir-fried dish), Champon (rice with fried vegetables, meat and eggs), etc. for very reasonable prices (around 600 yen).

I had a transit flight for Ishigaki Island, I looked forward to trying this restaurant as I heard about positive feedback. Soki soba was good maybe because of super reasonable price. Other local...

This restaurant is on the 4th floor of the Naha Airport Domestic Terminal. While alcohol is served as well, Okinawa soba is their main offering, along with chanpuru and other local dishes. Since it's inside the airport, you can grab a quick bite to eat here before your departure.

This dining hall was founded in 1962 and is open 24 hours. It is famous as the origin of the “pork and eggs set,” which has become a standard of Okinawan cuisine. There's also goya chanpuru, Okinawa soba, and other home-style cooking with plenty of vegetables. The main draw is their katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl). The sweet and savory sauce, soba soup stock, and braised pork is sure to whet your appetite.

Great local cuisine; providing a range of dishes to tempt all cuisine styles inc vegetarians like me. Menues are in English and prices are very reasonable.

Yamaya, a restaurant that specializes in kimchi and Okinawa soba, makes its home in Kumoji of Naha City. The noodles are short and easily pick up the soup, which has a deep but light flavor that uses no chemical seasonings. The “Yamaya soba” is a popular and delicious dish that goes well with kimchi. There's also “kimchi yakisoba” and several other original menu items available. The hand-prepared kimchi uses no additives, and dishes such as the specially made “mozuku kimchi” (kimchi with a type of edible seaweed) and the seasonal “island Japanese leek with kimchi” combine typical Okinawan ingredients with kimchi.

    キムチの専門店ですが、沖縄そばは絶品です。大と小がありますが、小で普通サイズです。お値段もとてもお安くて大満足です。

This steak restaurant is near the Prefecture Government Building. The interior is designed like that of a passenger ship, and the staff all wear sailor suits. Each table features an iron grill, and the chefs prepare your seafood, meat, and so on right before your eyes. You won’t want to miss their dexterous work. There is also a dinner menu for children, making this a great family destination. As it gets crowded in the evenings, reservations are recommended.

Fun place to have dinner with friends. They offer two types of steak, the sirloin which looks like a strip steak in the USA and the sirloin tenderloin (~$26) which looks like a filet. They also have...

Horikawa is an Okinawan soba noodle shop, opposite Shuri Castle Park and near Josei Elementary School and Ryutan Pond in Shurimawashi Town. Their Okinawan soba noodles have a clear soup mixed with homemade noodles which are boiled after an order is received. The decoration with condiments such as spring onion and ginger on a porcelain spoon is impressive.

Okinawa Areas

around-area-map

Let go of your image of a busy, ordered Japan and replace it with crystal-clear waters, white sand beaches, and relaxing folk music: You’ve arrived in Okinawa. A world away from the high intensity of Tokyo, Okinawans appear to live a laid-back beach life on this paradisiacal tropical island that lies in the middle of the East China Sea almost 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Japan’s most southern tip. Home to a spattering of islands, prepare yourself to discover underwater caves, star-shaped sand, and an island culture sometimes unrecognizable from mainland Japan.
