This semi-submersible observation boat takes passengers on tours of Satamisaki Marine Park, Japan's first marine park. Passengers can enjoy viewing an alien world of emerald blue from seats located under the waterline. The rich waters of Satamisaki Marine Park are a natural treasure trove densely populated by brilliantly-colored corals. Passengers can see schools of tropical fish, colonies of seaweed, and maybe even a sea turtle or two through the boat's glass bottom. The view of the Satamisaki Lighthouse from the boat's deck is also particularly beautiful. Sunset cruises that allow passengers to enjoy watching a fantastic sunset are also available (reservation required).

This tourist farm is located 30 minutes from the So-Yagoro Interchange on the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway. It offers all-you-can-pick strawberries from late December to late April. It grows three varieties of strawberry; Saga Honoka, noted for its pronounced sweetness and its juiciness, Satsuma Otome, which is characterized by its large average size, and Sachinoka, which has a high Vitamin C content. Although a different fee is charged for each variety, no time limit is imposed, so guests can enjoy picking strawberries to their heart's content. The strawberries in soil carefully cultivated with organic fertilizer and reduced agrochemicals, giving guests peace of mind.

Kagoshima Areas

around-area-map

Over 100 active volcanoes across Kagoshima make it one of the Japan's most exciting prefectures. The prefectural capital, Kagoshima city, looks out to one of the prefecture’s most spectacular volcanoes, Sakurajima, an island of its own that can be visited and seen close up or admired from afar, with the promise of breathtaking sunsets complete with frequent puffs of smoke and ash. Down the Satsuma Peninsula, the most southerly part of mainland Japan, waterfalls, sand onsen, and fascinating history await, while Kagoshima's abundance of satsuma imo (sweet potato) provide a wholesome snack as well as one of Japan's favourite drinks - shochu.
