    This long-standing Western restaurant opened in 1956, in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It is one of the restaurants said to have devised the Miyazaki’s specialty Chicken Nanban. The restaurant prides itself on its Chicken Nanban, made with tender chicken breast meat, cooked and immediately covered in sweet vinegar and a homemade tartar sauce. Locals and tourists alike line up to buy it. The old-fashioned interior, styled like a Western town restaurant, is also quite appealing.

    Visited this restaurant to enjoy the renowned nanban chicken in Miyazaki with my friend. Staff is helpful and service is quick. The location is a bit hard to find but persevere and you’ll be rewarded...

Its uniqueness brought it wild popularity and now the shop also offers a nanjakora choux, a creampuff made with Ogura cream, Japanese chestnut paste, strawberries, and cheese. The shop’s cheese manju grew in popularity after becoming a favorite souvenir for cabin attendants to bring back from flights to the area and Warabe has even been featured in various media. Distinguished by a crisp and simple crust made with margarine, sugar, and flour, these sweet manju buns are filled with cream cheese in place of the standard red bean paste. Made entirely by hand, Warabe frequently sells out its stock early in the day. If you absolutely want to get your hands on a Warabe cheese manju, be sure to make a reservation in advance.

    This Western restaurant is located on the Chuo-dori street in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. Its owner was a chef at “Ogura,” a restaurant which is said to have invented Chicken Nanban, since the beginning. The Special Chicken Nanban on the restaurant’s menu is made with a chicken, which is prepared that very day, from which only the breast meat is used for the exquisite meal. Sweet vinegar and a homemade tartar sauce are poured onto the soft breast meat, creating a flavor that is quite addictive. The restaurant has a retro interior with primarily counter seats.

    コースをオーダー。鰤の真子はかなり久々に食べました。ヨモギ饅頭の葛あんかけがおいしかったです。なんといいますか、コスパがいいという感じで、また利用したいと思いました。高畑充希のドラマにも使われたようです。
