    This fruit farm, surrounded by fields, grows strawberries, Japanese pears, and Hitomebore and Hinohikari rice. Also operating as a tourist farm, from late February through May, visitors can enjoy strawberry picking, and, from mid-August through November, Japanese pear picking. The farm's strawberries, in particular are grown in specially chosen soil with electrolyzed water and with almost no chemical fertilizers, and when in season visitors can enjoy 30-minute, all-you-can-eat strawberry picking. Large groups require an advance reservation. The farm also offers a plan in which you can take strawberries home with you, as well as a home delivery service.

Selling traditional geta sandals as well as modern wood sandals, here you can find footwear that not only goes well with yukata robes and other Japanese clothing, but also original designs perfect for everyday use. In addition, as a company-owned and operated shop, the establishment also offers repair and mending services. Another nice thing about the shop is its wide selection of products suitable for different seasons and purposes.

    "This shop sells lacquerware on the Mamedamachi Shopping Street' Miyuki-dori Street a 20-minute walk from Hita Station. The shop is owned by one of the few remaining Hita lacquerware craftsmen. The shop's products, which employ an individual style and which are created using a technique called dry lacquering, have won numerous awards. The shop boasts a wide selection, including trays, plates, and flower vases. The shop's Mameda Mame ""Bean"" Hina dolls are as tiny as their name implies and are particularly popular. The shop also repairs broken and cracked tableware and holds kintsugi classes in which participants use lacquer and gold to slowly but surely repair a favorite piece of broken tableware with their own hands."

    As its name states, this extremely unusual museum focuses on lumber, specifically Hita cedar, and has exhibits on the local forestry and lumber industries. The museum itself is built with large, cross sectional cut laminated lumber. Huge cedar trees estimated to be 300 to 400 years old are displayed lying horizontally in the museum, as well as lumbering tools once used in the area. In addition, the museum displays chronological tables and photos which show how lumber used to be transported, such as via floating rafts.

    JR日田駅の並びに有る観光案内所です。傍まで行きましたが、店内は暗いので人がいるのかどうかわかりませんでした。ただ自転車が並んでいたので、やっているとは思うのですが・・・。日田は伝統的な建築物も有る大分屈指の観光地、相談してみるのも良いですよね。

    ちょっと長めの階段を上がると、閑静な社が見えてくる。時間があれば立ち寄ってみても良いかな。長めの階段を登れない人は，裏手の車道で社の近くまで行ける。境内には稲荷神社などもあるので，社を、グルリと一周すれば参拝できる。

    江戸時代は天領だったという大分県の日田。その豆田町は、古い町並みが素敵な町です。豆田町には南北を貫く２本のメインストリートが通っていますが、その右側の上町通り沿いに長福寺がありました。 上町通りに長福寺の山門が建っています。奥には本堂があり、山門も本堂も品格があり、昔なつかしい雰囲気を醸し出していました。このお寺の醸し出す雰囲気が古い町並みの豆田町にフィットしていて、素敵でした。

    悪くはないんだが日田にある押し花を使った珍しい美術館。館内は撮影禁止です。無料ということでお邪魔しました。絵と押し花の絵は見事なコラボレーションでしたが、沢山見るというより売店が主と思いました。

    国道212号線を南から走って浄明寺橋を渡ったところで左に曲がるとあります。隣の幼稚園のほうはロードマップにも出ていて、こちらを目印にしたほうがわかりやすいかもしれません。教会の建物は新しいのかなと思いました。もしかすると幼少の頃にここには来たことがあるのかもしれませんが、さすがにその頃とは建物も変わっているのだろうと思いした。ミサに参列可能な人数分ほどの駐車スペースが前にありました。
