This tourist information center is part of Kurokawa Onsen's Ryokan Association Office in Minamioguni Town, Aso County. They sell a Onsen Passport that gives you access to the baths at three Kurokawa Onsen inns, rent yukata cotton robe sets, and lend out electric bikes too. This center also functions as the multipurpose facility and is used for meetings, seminars, and concerts.

A bridge located in Minamioguni Town, Aso County, Kumamoto Prefecture. Spanning the Kurokawa Onsen hot spring district, during the Yuakari event each year in winter, carved bamboo tubes lit from within and bamboo work lights are placed around the bridge. Many tourists come during the event to enjoy the magical sight of the lights reflecting off the river surface.

This shop in Takamori Town, Aso County specializes in charcoal grilled chicken. The name of the store comes from Rakudayama (“Rakuda” means “camel”, and “yama” means “mountain” in Japanese), a nearby mountain that looks like a camel's hump. Smothered in their secret sauce, the taste is like no other. People usually eat it by cutting up the chicken with special scissors.

This tofu shop located in Oguni Town, Aso County was founded in the Meiji period. Their excellent tofu is made with local spring water. They sell several varieties, including country style inaka tofu, zaru tofu served in a basket, and fried tofu. You can also eat freshly made tofu right there as part a meal set. They make soy milk too, and sell prepared products made with it like karinto fried dough and yokan bean gelatin that make great gifts.

Aso Gogaku refers to the five main peaks that make up Mt. Aso: Mt. Taka, Mt. Naka, Mt. Neko, Mt. Eboshi, and Mt. Kishima. They formed within Mt. Aso's caldera, which developed from repeated volcanic activity. Aso Daikanbo is the highest point along the crater's outer rim, a natural lookout with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. Currently only Mt. Naka is active.

ドライブの途中で立ち寄りました。熊本名物のあかうしを頂けました。美味しかったです。定食系のメニューが豊富なので、いろいろ試してみたくなります。

A yakiniku Japanese-style grill-it-yourself barbecue restaurant adjoining a roadside station located at the foot of Mt. Aso. Taking pride in its use of Aka beef, a local specialty product raised on the abundant grasslands of southern Aso, here customers can enjoy tender, lean, flavorful meat. This meat is particularly popular with women because it has just the right amount of fat and doesn't make you feel heavy even after eating a lot of it. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows provide diners with a panoramic view of the naturally beautiful Aso area, and the scenery created by the outer crater rim and mountain foot is quite popular. The sight of the famous Isshingyo Sakura Tree in full bloom in spring is also stunning. In the restaurant's meat shop, you can purchase meat to take home with you.

ほとんど満杯に近い駐車場からあか牛の館に行くと、まだ窓側の席が残っていて安堵した。窓越しの阿蘇五岳を眺めながら柔らかくて口の中でとろけるあか牛の焼肉を堪能した。たくさん食べてもちっとも胸やけがしなかった。

"A cafe located close to the Minamioguni Town government hall. The cafe's signature apple pies are made with apples stewed in sanonto sugar and wrapped in a handmade crust. The establishment has attracted attention for its abundant use of apples in many of its dishes, such as its ""Apple Cheese"" cake topped with apple slices, and Japanese-style curry made with apples instead of potatoes. The taste of the cafe's lovingly crafted dishes has won it many fans. The establishment also sells natural yeast breads, making it a great destination for bread-lovers. The laid-back interior gives off a secret hideaway vibe and customers can enjoy lunch through dinner here."

林檎の樹にランチに寄りました。今回は新メニューのトルコライスを頂きました。かなりの量でがっつりメニューです。チキンカツ2枚、ハンバーグ1個、カレーピラフにナポリタンとサラダが大皿一つに盛り付けられており価格は単品1500円です。スープまたはコーヒーのセットにすると1800円。ロコモロ1320円を頼むより量的にも価格的にもお得ですよ。

A Japan Agricultural Cooperatives famers market located in Oguni, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture easily identifiable by its namesake pyramid-shaped building. The market sells all manner of Aso products, including fresh vegetables delivery daily by local farmers, Kumamoto pork ham and sausages, and dairy products made with Oguni Jersey milk. There is also a restaurant where diners can enjoy dishes made with delicious local ingredients; the Oguni beef diced steak and yakiniku (barbecue) special are particularly popular. The rich soft-serve ice cream makes a great dessert or treat.

鍋ヶ滝から坂本善三美術館を回って黒川温泉方向へ車を走らせていて左側に目が入ったので昼食で立ち寄りました。坂道を上がると店の前に駐車場があります。入り口近くは土産物売り場で奥が食事場所になっていました。店内はそこそこの混雑程度でした。食事の場所が多くない地域なので仕方ないかもしれません。あかうしのカレーにしました。味は悪くないかなというものでした。
