This is a regional restaurant located in a quiet wooded area located a five-minute walk from Takamori Station. Traditional Dengaku cuisine can be enjoyed in an old thatched-roof house built 200 years ago. A special characteristic of dengaku grilled in front of you robata-yaki style is that you can taste it with various types of miso including yuzu (citrus) miso, Japanese pepper miso, and chicken miso, etc. To finish the meal, fragrant Dengaku-miso grilled rice balls are recommended.

This is one of the highlights so far on our second trip to Japan. The restaurant is set in a traditional house with charcoals at each table and fresh meat and fish to eat. The service is great...

This restaurant in Takamori-machi, Aso County serves regional cuisine. It's a great place to try authentic Takamori dengaku, skewers made with salt grilled yamame salmon, tofu, konnyaku gelatin, taro, and seasonal wild vegetables smothered in a special miso sauce and cooked over a charcoal fire. You'll love eating this local favorite while chatting around the restaurant's traditional hearth. Their Takamori dengaku multi-course meal comes with fried bean curd, wild vegetable and dango dumpling soup, and tokibi rice.

This restaurant in Aso City serves local cuisine. Their yakiniku Japanese barbecue and country cooking are made with Aso meat and produce they raise themselves. The Aka beef for their yakiniku is light and little extra fat. The rice is home-grown, and the seasonal pickled vegetables are all homemade too. It's a great spot for a relaxing meal while gazing at the mountains of Aso.

The restaurant is along route 149 and easily accessible by car. There are enough parking spaces outside the restaurant. Nice family run restaurant that serve only beef BBQ. We ordered 6 beef sets...

Taking pride in its use of Aka beef, a local specialty product raised on the abundant grasslands of southern Aso, here customers can enjoy tender, lean, flavorful meat. This meat is particularly popular with women because it has just the right amount of fat and doesn't make you feel heavy even after eating a lot of it. The restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows provide diners with a panoramic view of the naturally beautiful Aso area, and the scenery created by the outer crater rim and mountain foot is quite popular. The sight of the famous Isshingyo Sakura Tree in full bloom in spring is also stunning. In the restaurant's meat shop, you can purchase meat to take home with you.
