    A Japan Agricultural Cooperatives famers market located in Oguni, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture easily identifiable by its namesake pyramid-shaped building. The market sells all manner of Aso products, including fresh vegetables delivery daily by local farmers, Kumamoto pork ham and sausages, and dairy products made with Oguni Jersey milk. There is also a restaurant where diners can enjoy dishes made with delicious local ingredients; the Oguni beef diced steak and yakiniku (barbecue) special are particularly popular. The rich soft-serve ice cream makes a great dessert or treat.

The manager’s special Kaiji Curry is also popular.

    This restaurant is located on the first floor of the Hakusuiso ryokan inn.     This restaurant is the sister establishment of Okyakuya, the ryokan inn with the longest history in Kurokawa Onsen. The restaurant serves cuisine using an abundance of local ingredients and Kumamoto brand meat varieties such as red beef and Hio pork. The restaurant's beef curry, made with rare and expensive Aso red beef slow-stewed to perfection, is so popular many customers come back again and again to enjoy it. The restaurant also offers a broiled red beef rice box which is completely covered with flavorful red beef sirloin and which is limited to just 10 customers a day. Drizzled with a homemade garlic sauce, this tasty dish is frequently featured on television, in magazines, and in various other media. The restaurant operates out of an old Meiji period Japanese home which was relocated to this site; inside the restaurant has a fireplace and exudes a relaxing atmosphere.

    This cafe and restaurant is located in the garden space adjoining Kusamakura Onsen Tensui. The restaurant serves cuisine diligently crafted by hand one dish at a time using seasonal vegetables cultivated on its own farm. Each week on Wednesday, the restaurant holds an all-you-can-eat buffet consisting of dishes made with an abundance of fresh vegetables. The establishment also offers desserts such as dessert plates and parfaits made using Shiranui dekopon citrus fruit from Tensui-machi, Tamana City. Seasonal flowers bloom in profusion around the terrace seating area, which offers a sweeping view of the Ariake Sea and Mt. Unzen.

    有明海や島原半島が見渡せる景色のいい場所にあります。土日のランチバイキングに行きました。野菜料理がメインですが、どれもおいしかったです。制限時間が一時間なので、ゆっくり食べれないのが残念ですが、席数が多くなくしかたないです。JAFの会員証を見せると100円引きになります。

    This Japanese restaurant is located a three-minute walk from the Torichosuji tram station. In an establishment with a sweeping view of the large tower of Kumamoto Castle, the restaurant serves home-style cuisine prepared by a professional chef. Over 20 dishes are piled high in large bowls on the counter daily. In addition to Kumamoto cuisine such as basashi horsemeat sashimi and hitomoji guruguru baby green onions with vinegared miso, the wide selection of food also includes dishes such as nori seaweed sheets boiled in soy sauce tsukudani style, and nikujaga meat and potato stew. Having customers pick their favorites from among the dishes on offer and enjoying them along with local alcoholic beverages is this restaurant's style. The restaurant's old-fashioned decor engenders a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy even for lone diners to feel comfortable coming in.

    他県からの旅行でこの店を予約して行きましたが、いきなり大将から「予約を知らない、女将から聞いてない」と言われて、そのまま帰ってきました。幸いホテルにお勧めの店を紹介してもらい事なきを得ましたが、折角の旅行が台無しになるところでした。口コミは良いのに「なぜ？」という気分ですが、馴染みには優しく、一見にはツレナイのかなと感じました。

    晩ご飯で、麻婆豆腐定食食べました ちょっと辛かったのですが、 美味しく頂きました 唐揚げもついていて、ご飯もお代わりしたせいか 満腹になりました。 コスパもよく普通においしいと思います。 通町筋からは新市街近くまで歩くので ちょっと遠い感じもしますね。
