    This large park running north-south along the Kuma River is approximately ten minutes on foot from JR Yatsushiro Station. It has a baseball and soccer fields, and people play softball there too. It also acts as the venue for various local events, as well as the turning point for a long-distance relay race. The park hosts the Yatsuhiro National Fireworks Competition every October, with perfect views of the powerful display launched just in front of the seating area.

    Aso Nature Land, located in Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture, offers a variety of activities that allow visitors to enjoy the mountains, grassy plains, and other blessings of nature to the fullest. The sky-themed sports are especially popular. There’s even a paragliding course for beginners who want to experience what it’s like to descend to the ground from a hill. Visitors can view the sunrise from a hot air balloon 40 meters in the air—young children are allowed as well if accompanied by a guardian. There’s also horseback riding, canyoning, and a variety of other courses available.

    It’s a little far from Kumamoto Station (30-min by car) but I love the large park just outside the stadium. We can sit in the grass area for picnics and there’s enough space for kids to run around.

    私が子供の頃、野球をやっていたこともあり(^.^)是非、打撃の神様の川上哲治記念球場に来てみたかった。展示コーナーが狭い場所に飾らせているのが寂しく感じた(^.^)熊本の誇り、野球人として数々功績を残した大スターが・・・記念館やビデオを公開して今の子供たちに功績を残して欲しいと思いました(^.^)

    韓国系の方が多く、案内版などホテル内殆どハングル表記。もちろん、スタッフも韓国人。最低限の日本語は通じるので寝るだけなら充分です。ＴＶも韓国放送入るので、一瞬どこに来たかわからなくなりました。

    公園というよりスポーツ施設の感じです。陸上競技場と多目的グラウンドなどがあり、訪れた時は陸上競技場で合宿しているらしい学生の練習が行われていました。猛暑が続く昨今、比較的過ごしやすい阿蘇は温泉もあり格好の合宿場所なんでしょうね。私も過去にここで野球の練習をしたことを思い出しました。 芝生の手入れも良好で、ここから見る涅槃像は大きくて素晴らしいです。

    屋外にクレーコートが4面あります。照明はありません、料金は1時間全日350円ですが予約が必要です。専用駐車場はありませんが、近くには三の丸など駐車台数が多い駐車場があります。広く多彩な公園が羨ましく。

    ツツジ満開の季節に和風庭園の池では、1羽白鷺の優雅な姿に魅了した。餌やりのお子さんが近づいても無視して悠々した様子がとても可愛いだった。
