"A roadside station situated along National Route 207 in Ifuku Ko, Tara Town, Fujitsu County, Saga Prefecture. At the ""Tarafukukan"" farrmers market and local specialty products shop, visitors can purchase fresh, local vegetables, Tara mikan mandarin oranges, and other agricultural products; seafood from the Ariake Sea; and eggs from farms on the Taradake Highland. The station also sells medicinal herb ice cream, Saga beef croquettes, and other prepared foods. The Tajima ham sold here has received high praise in international competitions."

Saga Kashima-shi Furueda-otsu 1855

"A Shinto shrine located in Furueda Otsu, Kashima City. Counted as one of the three great Inari shrines alongside Kyoto's Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kasama Inari Shrine in Ibaraki, this Shinto shrine is dedicated primarily to Ukanomitama no okami, Omiyanome no okami, and Sarutahiko no okami. A guardian shrine of the life necessities of food, clothing, and shelter, the shrine is visited by some 3 million people annually. Due to its extravagantly adorned structure, the shrine is also known as the ""Nikko of West Japan"". The shrine's inner sanctuary stands beyond a series of crimson lacquered torii gates."

There's a farmer's market selling local agricultural and marine products as well as a sports park with a gymnasium and pool. Saga Kashima-shi Furueda Otsu 1855

A museum on the precincts of Yutoku-jinja Shrine, one of Japan's three main Shinto shrines dedicated to the deity Inari. It exhibits Yutoku Inari Shrine treasures as well as local historic and ethnic materials, arts, and crafts. Items you can view at the permanent exhibition include artifacts from Yutokuin Shrine, armor of the former Kashima clan's feudal lords, art swords, ceramics, paintings, and Kashima nishiki fabric. In addition, special exhibits on various themes are held year-round.

祐徳稲荷神社の本殿と、山の一番上にあった奥の院を参拝して、駐車場に向かうと、駐車場横に、祐徳博物館がありました。この博物館は、祐徳稲荷神社所蔵のお宝はもちろんですが、鍋島藩の歴代藩主が用いた鎧兜・美術刀剣などが展示されています。特に、鎧兜は１０体ほど並んでいて、圧巻でした。

The temple was built on the birthplace of Kakuhaku Saints, the founder of the Shingon sect of Buddhism and the founder of the Shingi Shingon sect.

誕生院(あるいは誕生寺)というと宗祖などの誕生した跡地に建てられたお寺というイメージが有りますが、ここは真言宗中興で新義真言宗の祖である興教大師の生誕の地です。現在の寺院は20世紀初頭に再建された建物です。駐車場も有るので車でも行き易いですよ。

Situated along Sakagura-dori Street (a street lined with many old sake breweries) which has been designated a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, this particular brewery has been making sake for four generations. Ariake Sea Tidal Flat Experience programs are held from mid-April to October on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, including Golden Week in May. Reception is at Roadside Station Kashima on the Ariake Sea; it is fully equipped with changing rooms and hot showers. After an introduction on how to make the most of your time at the tidal flats, you'll be able to enjoy them as you please. You might even encounter mudskippers. Reservations are required except for during summer vacation when individuals, families, and small groups can join in without one.

A shop that manufactures and sells Yutoku Inari-jinja Shrine's specialty, Inari Yokan. Look for the red signage with a huge tube of Inari Yokan. Inari Yokan is an additive-free, artificial color-free white yokan sweet bean jelly containing azuki beans. It has won the Gold Medal and the Honorary President Award at the National Confectionery Exposition. Made from high quality azuki beans and agar, the moderately sweet treat is popular with a wide range of people. They also sell yokan in rectangular blocks.

Saga Kashima-shi Takatsuhara

A famous cherry blossom viewing spot, known as one of the top three in Saga Prefecture. The row of cherry trees leading to the park is called the Flower Tunnel and is famous for being the first place in Kyushu to illuminate the blossoms at night. The park is located where Kashima Castle once stood; today the Akamon Gate, Otemon Gate, stone fortifications, and the surrounding samurai residences remain. It's been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Historic Parks.

While most the castle was destroyed during the Saga Rebellion in 1874, the Akamon Gate, Otemon Gate, stone fortifications, and the surrounding samurai residences still stand. Akamon Gate was Kashima Castle's main entryway; it has been designated an Important Cultural Property of the prefecture. Today it's a park that's famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot, one of the top three in Saga Prefecture.
