Located along the Yobuko coast, this is Japan’s first restaurant in the sea. In the center is a huge fish preserve connected to the sea, creating an aquarium-like atmosphere. The underwater table and tatami-room seats allow one to watch the fish in close proximity, and in the tatami hall above one can look out over the Yobuko mountains and Yobuko Ohashi bridge in a preeminent location while tasting fish cuisine of unparalleled freshness. At the front they sell souvenirs including the famous squid steamed dumpling.

The farmer's restaurant is located in the Karatsu Umakamon Market, one of the largest direct sales markets in the prefecture, and offers a wide variety of seasonal delicacies. The yakiniku menu is also popular, including a specially selected yakiniku platter and a comparison of different cuts of wagyu beef.

Both their lunch and dinner menus are packed with options.

"A restaurant at Yoshinogari Historical Park, where you can experience the ancient Yayoi period through the preserved Yoshinogari site, restored features from the era, and exhibits of excavated artifacts. The menu is full of items made with local ingredients unique to Yoshinogari. Meals come with red rice, a variety prevalent in ancient times. Their ""Ancient Shellfish Soup Gozen"" is a Japanese style meal set available in limited quantities inspired by the Yayoi period."

I visited the Yoshinogari Historical Park with my local guide last summer. The restaurant very busy when we first entered, so we made a reservation and returned after our walking tour of the site...
