A theme park located in Ko, Shimono, Ureshino-machi, Ureshino City. Recreating what the Nagasaki Kaido highway looked like in the early Edo period, visitors to the park can enjoy ninja-themed attractions like shuriken (star shaped weapon) throwing, blow darts, and a trick ninja house, as well as a ninja show, museum of ninja tools, and ninja costume activity. There's also a studio where you can make raku ware, a fortuneteller, a restaurant (only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) and a gift and souvenir shop.

Kids ages 6+ will love this! Billed as an Interactive Ninja Theme Park. You must see the Ninja Show, at the top of the hill in a theater with flashing swords, trap doors, hidden wall panels, and...

A porcelain theme park owned and operated by the Fukagawa Seiji company which was built to introduce visitors to the history and wonder of pottery making. Surrounded by the park's lush grounds, visitors can enjoy pottery from a variety of angles. The Chujikan museum displays company founder Chuji Fukagawa's treasured collection of pieces, including a large flower vase which was awarded a gold prize at the 1900 Paris Exposition. In the Jikigura shop, visitors can easily get their hands on products deviating from the regular line specs normally only ever seen inside the factory. There's also a special tearoom which has a view of the Paris Exposition vase, and a pottery painting activity area. The ground's English lavender, which comes into bloom in early summer, is also a must-see.

Here pieces of Arita ware from a variety of periods (such as old Imari, Kakiemon, and Nabeshima Domain Kiln-style wares) are displayed in a recreation of the Zwinger palace in Dresden, Germany. Particularly noteworthy is the great 183 centimeter tall flower vase. It is said to have wowed people from around the world when it was displayed at the 1873 Vienna World's Fair. A Baroque garden has been recreated on the facility's grounds, and there is also an Arita ware workshop where visitors can try their hand at crafting a ceramics piece on a potter's wheel.

Saga Areas

around-area-map

Away from the fast-paced cities of mainland Japan, Kyushu’s Saga prefecture offers quaint towns and cities known for their traditional crafts, particularly ceramics. Rich in kaolin (a type of clay), Saga became the homeland of Arita ware, a delicate, decorative porcelain that is now celebrated worldwide and can be discovered in the towns of Arita, Imari, and Karatsu.
