    This Japanese confectionery store was established in 1948, on the path leading up to the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The plum garden confectionary store has a selection of carefully created Japanese sweets such as Houmanzan, dedicated to the Emperor, and Uso no Mochi. The store creates different sweets each season and is a favorite of culture and tea-lovers. It is approximately 30 minutes by car from Fukuoka Airport, or one minute on foot from the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station.

    宝満山はなんとも言えない食感でした。うその餅はおいしく食べられました。 正直、これら二つは、好みが分かれると思いますので、試食してから購入されることをお勧めします。

    Houraku Manju, established in 1953, began with the first generation chief who considered how to create products from honey gained through his beekeeping business. Using absolutely no preservatives or thickeners, the bean filling is gentle on the body and full of nutrients. Both the black and white bean varieties are recommended. It is around a three-minute walk from subway Kuko Line Nishijin Station.

    明治35年なの?!凄いわ、、八女の街並みも風情が有り、その中でも看板にも威光が有るような、無いような（微笑）、店内はそれなりに整頓されてて、繁盛店には見えないが、嫌いではない雰囲気ですよ！

    ご近所から頂きました。まず名前にびっくりでした。あまり良いイメージは無いですよねえ。皮肉？？そして箱を開けて再度びっくり。直径30センチ越えの大きなドラヤキでした。2人暮らしの私達には1年分です。仕方が無いので小さく切り分けて冷凍保存。味？？美味しかったですよ-！

    A shop located along the approach to Daizaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Saifu 4-Chome Dazaifu City that specializes in the local Dazaifu Umegaemochi treat (a bean paste filled rice dumpling that is compressed and grilled) and other plum products. Their Umegaemochi are individually made using traditional techniques at the front of the shop and they also offer pickled Tobiumezuke plums and Gokaku-Ume plums made from carefully chosen Japanese plums. In the attached cafe area, you can enjoy your Umegaemochi with a cup of tea along with other sweets including Zenzai red bean soup as well as plum jellies and juices.
