The large number of food stalls includes places offering local Tosa dishes, as well as a wide range of other cuisine including standard Japanese food, Chinese food, Italian food, Indian food, etc. Diners order their food from the food stalls and then take it to eat in the shared central dining area. There are also shops selling local souvenirs, massage providers, etc., making this a great place for shopping or relaxation. The walkways and eating areas within the Market have been given the names of famous spots in Kochi Prefecture, such as Ryoma Street, O-Joka Square (Castle Town Square), Igosso Lane, etc.

These pot stickers feature a thin wrapper stuffed with a filling made with plenty of vegetables including garlic chives and ginger from Kochi Prefecture and fried until golden.     The Tanaka Sengyoten is located in the Taisho-machi market, which sells fresh fish and seafood. Tanaka Sengyoten also has a Ryoshi-goya (fisherman’s hut) opposite the shop; customers who have purchased fresh fish at Tanaka Sengyoten can take it next door and have it prepared and cooked for them to eat there. There is no extra charge for sashimi etc., but there is an additional charge for cooking dried fish. Customers can also order miso soup and rice to accompany their fish or seafood.

    Tanaka Sengyoten used very fresh fish from local fishermen. There is a rice set with miso soup for 250 yen. You can chose your fish from the shop across the street.

    店内の雰囲気から出されるメニューまで一風変わったレストラン・・・。異質というか不気味というか面白いというか・・・感じ方は人それぞれ。料理はまずまず普通でした。突拍子もないメニュー記載も有り遊び心をお持ちの方にはお勧めのレストランです。

It is said to be the restaurant that invented Yakikiri no Tataki, in which bonito is seared over a fire, seasoned, and then sliced thinly to be eaten while hot. Customers can choose either counter or table service. A selection of the catch of the day is offered at the counter, including thickly-sliced Bonito Tataki, dishes made with octopus, and moray eel. This restaurant is popular not only with tourists but also with local residents. In addition to seafood, Ryukyu Island-style marinated dishes, Tosa-style sushi roll, and other simple local dishes are available, along with local Tosa sake.

    情報によると塩たたき発祥の店ということ。 間違いなく旨い、他の店では味わうことのできない美味しさ。ポン酢などは邪魔に思えるくらいにかつおのうまみが味わえる。店主のこだわりでチェーン店のようには品物は出てきません。それが駄目な人と一緒には僕は食べたくない、と言いたくなるくらいそのこだわりと一緒に味わえる気持ちです。

Bring your dog along to dine on the terrace beneath Japanese zelkova trees. The popular shop often gets exposure from customers on social media.
