Kochi Tabi Hiroba is located directly in front of Kochi Station. It houses the “Tosa Terrace” Kochi tourist information center, and is the venue for “Tosa Omotenashi Kaientai” stage performances for tourists, which are held every weekend and on public holidays. The statues of famous historical figures Sakamoto Ryoma, Nakaoka Shintaro and Takeichi Hanpeita make a great backdrop for souvenir photos.

If you are taking trains at Kochi station, you would not miss this location. ANd a picture during sunny blue sky days would be very nice. It is just in front of JR station, next to Tourist...

    桂浜公園の駐車場に車を停めると直ぐに案内所の建屋が目に入りました。大きなガラス窓の明るく開放的な施設となっており一帯の情報収集には便利そうでした。猶、有料ながらガイドツアーも行なわれているようでした。

Kochi Areas

around-area-map

The largest of Shikoku’s prefectures, Kochi is endowed with some of the island’s most exceptional sand beaches lining the Pacific Ocean, which narrows into the Shimanto-gawa, a huge river that stretches 196 kilometers into the prefecture, passing verdant mountains and hosting countless riverside activities. Whether you’re a pilgrim or not, Kochi’s 16 Buddhist temples that make up one leg of the Shikoku Pilgrimage are worth a visit, particularly Chikurin-ji for its five-tier pagoda.
