- Officially Otayama Daigan-in Burakuji Temple. It was reportedly founded by the famous monk Gyoki in 724. The temple is counted as one of Japan's three main temples dedicated to Yakushi, the Healing Buddha, along with Mine Yakushi at Horaiji Temple in Aichi Prefecture and Akaidake Yakushi at Jofukuji Temple in Fukushima Prefecture. Also called Shibaori Yakushi, the main temple's Yakushi hall has been designated as a National Treasure.

この漢字で「ぶらくじ」と読みます。京都や奈良に比べると堂塔・仏像等についての国宝指定は四国には少ない、重文は多々あるものの。ここは薬師堂が国宝です。この堂宇は平安時代に建立された四国最古の堂宇です。３体の如来像、２体の菩薩像はそれぞれ重文指定されています。拝観は事前予約の上、一人５００円です。堂塔内に入らなければ境内は自由でした。ここが高知であり四国の破壊者兼放火魔の長曾我部に焼失させられなかった...

- This temple is a prefectural Place of Scenic Beauty. Its garden is considered one of the top three in Tosa, along with Chikurinji Temple and Seigenji Temple. A Shingon Buddhist temple built during the Nanbokucho period, its garden is centered on a large ginkgo tree and has lovely seasonal scenery. You can also see valuable temple treasures and calligraphy in their treasure house.

The oldest temple in the area but they do not cooperate with family tree research. Very disappointed after positive experiences at other temples.

高知駅南口から西へ進んだ通り沿いにあります。 住宅街の中にあるお寺で、さほど広くはありませんが、風情のあるお寺です。 建造物も見応えがあります。

須崎市のお寺です。四国88ヵ所のような観光地ではありません。 住職はいますが、売店もなく記帳も、ありません。 ただ、坂本龍馬が木刀で切りつけて首を落としたという「首切り地蔵」というのがあって、龍馬ファンの方は一度訪れても良いかもしれません。

臨済宗妙心寺派寺院で創建後、約６６０年ほどが経過している中堅寺院です。古寺とは云えませんが特段新しい訳でもありません。本尊は地蔵菩薩で、海峯性公尼が四国霊場を巡拝していた泉巌覚雲の助力によって開いた寺院。この二人の座像が室町時代の肖像彫刻としては代表的なものとされ、国の重文にも指定されています。明治の悪法の廃仏毀釈とか云う珍稀な法令で廃寺にされたが、こんな幼稚な無能政府などの気まぐれで由緒ある寺院...

ここは京都の東本願寺の末寺です。教育委員会が設置した説明看板によると、本尊は阿弥陀如来、慶長年間に泉州商人が本尊を安置したらしい。１６０４年の慶長地震、高波の時に不思議にも助かり、１７１４年，願船寺と称した。最蔵坊(小笠原一学)が１６３０年に室津港の造営に当たり、その功績により現在の願船寺屋敷８４坪を与えられ現在に至っている。境内には寛永古港の礎石や最蔵坊の墓所もある。

Kochi Areas
