Ehime Imabari-shi Hakatacho Kinoura Ko 1650-1
A ramen restaurant established in 1971 located right in front of Kinoura Port on the southeastern side of Hakata Island. Dedicated to expressing Setouchi through flavor, the restaurant's shio (salt) ramen made with Hakata Island slat is popular with cyclists and tourists. The restaurant's ramen consists of thin, straight noodles and a light broth crafted with 17 ingredients whose full flavor is brought out by the salt used. The restaurant also serves Iyo shellfish rice made with an abundance of Japanese bay scallops and littleneck clams; and Igisu tofu, a local Shimanami dish. One of the restaurant's biggest charms is its lineup of dishes which allow you to fully experience the local flavors of Hakata.

"This seafood restaurant is located approximately a seven-minute drive from the Imabari-Kita Interchange on the Nishiseto Expressway. The large windows overlook the Seto Inland Sea, and you can see the Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge from any seat inside the restaurant. Their taimeshi-don (sea bream rice bowls), with plenty of sea bream sashimi and paste, and seafood rice bowls using seven kinds of sashimi in a luxurious style are popular limited menu items. Their ""Ladies Set"" that comes with kamameshi (rice, meat and vegetable dish served in a small pot), gratin and sorbet or coffee is also highly recommended."

I visited here one autumn...

Kaze no Restaurant is located at Sunrise Itoyama in Sunaba Town, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture which is at the foot of the Kurushima-kaikyo-ohashi Bridge. You can gaze at the scenery of the refreshing Kurushima Strait from the restaurant where all the seating has an ocean view. The concept of its dishes is “a feast with local products for local consumption”. It draws on networks with local fishermen and farmers, and offers casual modern European dishes full of seasonal goodness from Setouchi. A popular menu item is the iron pot dish in which the umami flavor of the ingredients can be strongly appreciated. An innovative Shimanami style paella using seafood and seasonal vegetables for ingredients is popular.

This long-standing western-style confectioner is an Imabari landmark. First opened in 1903 they've continued to offer the same flavor over four generations. One of their hallmarks is that summer classic, shaved ice. The making of the shaved ice is overseen by the shop's patissier owner and after being shaken and whipped it stands out for its smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. They offer 30 different flavors including their Milkshake with the classic sweetness and Strawberry-Milk with the luxurious taste of strawberries. During the winter months they open as a coffee shop and mainly sell cakes.

A popular pastry shop and café located on Hakata-jima Island in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture frequented by fans from both within and outside the prefecture. The café’s roots lead back to a Japanese sweet shop opened on Hakata Island shortly after the Second World War ended which later began offering Western-style sweets as well. Popular confections include the shop’s signature short cake; eclairs; and cakes made with an abundance of strawberries, peaches, and other seasonal fruits. The shop has an eat-in space in the back with a view of the ocean where you can enjoy original blend coffee and light meals in addition to sweets. The croque-monsieur is a particularly popular lunch choice.
