This rest temple is located along National Route 379 in Uchiko Town, Kita County, Ehime Prefecture. In addition to a center providing information about tourism and transportation, there are also several facilities that make the temple a hub for local exchange and tourism. Onsite is a farmer’s market where local vegetables, fruits, flowers, and specialty goods are sold, as well as a workshop that provides freshly baked bread and ham and restaurants that serve dishes with a local flavor. Popular items include Uchiko-made ham and sausage, which uses technology from Germany itself, and gelato made with fresh local fruits.

This roadside station has a glamorous location facing the islands of the Seto Inland Sea on one side with the sacred Mt. Takanawa behind it. With the theme of a town where you can feel the climate, region, and nature all wrapped in a gentle sea breeze it was given the name Fuwari (made from the Japanese characters for wind, peace, and village). As the name implies at this scenic roadside station you can buy vegetables freshly picked each morning alongside seafood, processed goods, and handmade staple dishes. There's also a food corner where you can enjoy a snack such as ice cream or jakoten (fish paste fritters), making this the perfect place to take a break during a drive. During the summer months the beach will be filled with beach-goers.

It locates between Matsuyama and Imabari city. Load is seaside line so view from here is nice, especially sunset time. Souvenior shop is enough to satisfy your needs.

There is an area where visitors can enjoy grilled seafood and have a barbecue while looking out over the Kurushima-kaikyo-ohashi Bridge and a popular restaurant serving seafood set meals, etc. Also on offer during the winter months is as much oyster as you can eat.

This roadside station located in Futami Seaside Park has been chosen as one of the Japan's 100 best sunset destinations. Along with a beautiful sandy beach facing the Seto Inland Sea there's a Sunset Museum with its own manmade beach and a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal while watching the sunset. Blessed with an abundance of nature this popular spot brings together the food obtained in the sea and the mountains. At Futamin C, the local specialty products shop, you'll find fresh fish and mandarin oranges grown in the temperate climate of the Setouchi region. In 2008 it was recognized as a holy ground for couples and their heart shaped Love Jakoten fritters are very popular.

The roadside station is like any other, selling local produce. Whats interesting is the food stall beside it offering grilled seafood and some other snacks. A good lunch stop or break for any...

Built at the Omogo Valley Entrance of the Ishizuchi Quasi-National Park the popular Mikawa Tenobe (hand pulled) Somen noodles is built on the site of a closed local junior high school. The noodles are marked by their strong texture and difficulty to stretch no matter how much time is taken. There are also local products for sale including produce picked fresh every morning, local specialty Mikawa tea, potatoes cooked in miso and other processed goods. There are lots of tourist spots in the area including Iwaya-ji Temple, the 45th temple of 88 sacred places on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, and Mikawa Ski resort, Shikoku's largest, making this a great place to take a break.

around-area-map

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country's oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
