    A pool in Matsuyama Central Park in the southern part of Matsuyama City. The pool features an interesting water saving system that uses overflow pool water as well as back flow from the filters. This is a popular spot for both training and leisure 50 meters lap pool and Jacuzzis, as well as an indoor / outdoor lazy river and water slides. Meeting spaces and multipurpose rooms are also available, making it the perfect place for club gatherings or meetings.

    The largest water park in Shikoku is here in southern Ehime. There are all sorts of different pools to play in like the slider pool with its 50-meter-long slides, the spacious lazy river that will ferry you about the park, and the wave pool with its ocean like swells. Popular attractions for thrill seekers are Shikoku's first free-fall slide and a 73-meter-long spiral slide. There are also other exciting leisure spots in the area including Baseyama Park which has a rotating ascending tower that offers great views from 260 meters above sea level and Shokenyama Park which has jumbo slides that are incredibly popular with children.

    Multi-purpose sports and culture facility surrounded by a wealth of nature. Facilities include a gymnasium large enough for three volleyball courts, a multi-purpose field large enough for two soccer fields, and a ground golf course. For children the most popular attraction is the largest roller slide in the prefecture. The giant roller slide has a space theme and is 200 meters long. With other areas like a lookout space with a great view and the beautiful scenery of Ichigoe-ike pond with its suspension bridge and Japanese iris garden this is also a great park for adult to enjoy along with children.

    A ski resort situated at the foot of Mt. Amagoi towering in the center of Aichi Prefecture. The resort is known for its high speed, a 1,000-meter-long pair lift, the longest in the Shikoku region. Riders can reach the top of the mountain in a flash and, from there, getting a panoramic view of Mt. Ishizuchi, the Shikoku Karst, and the Matsuyama Plain. With seven courses, including the steep Techno Course and the Family Course, perfect for families with children, the resort offers an abundance of different slopes for everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. The huge lift side jump is used for air challenge competitions. The resort is the perfect place to enjoy all out ski fun.

    An urban park sprawling in the Sannomaru on the west side of Matsuyama Castle. Surrounded by earthen walls and enclosed by a moat, the Horinouchi area was completed in 1605 and was built to serve as a palace for feudal lords, a residence for retainers, and as a government facility for the domain where rice was stored. Today, the area is maintained as a field where visitors can enjoy light exercises like running and playing catch. The park is also used for events on weekends and serves as a space for local residents to rest and relax. In spring, many cherry trees bloom in the park, and it has even been selected as one of the Japan Top 100 Sakura Viewing Sites. When the trees are flowering, the park bustles with large numbers of visitors come to see the blossoms.

    This botanical garden is located in Nakayama -Inu, Nakayama-cho, Iyo City. It grows tropical fruit trees such as bananas and dragon fruit, tropical plants, and other plants in its more than 1600 square-meter glass greenhouse. The farm sells seedlings grown in its greenhouse, gardening goods, and other items and also offers classes on making preserved flower classes.

    This beach is located on the eastern side of Yuge Island, one of the Seto Inland Sea’s Geiyo Islands. The long, arcing sandy beach has calm, clear waters and was selected by the Ministry of the Environment for the Selection of best 100 beach. The surrounding area features campgrounds and other facilities.

    This mikan orange grove is in Tomoura, Miyakubo-cho, Imabari city. It is open from October through the end of March. It's built into the side of a mountain, and grows a variety of citrus fruits including mikan oranges, and many have different seasons to allow different harvest times to try out (reservations only). After picking, you can enjoy mikans grown in the breezes of the Seto Inland Sea with a view of the water.

    This strawberry farm is located on National Route 317 in Amazaki, Kamiura-cho, Imabari City. The use of aeroponics assures that each strawberry plant is able to absorb plenty of sunlight. Guests can enjoy eating all the ripe strawberries they can pick for 30 minutes from January to the beginning of June (reservation required).

    These parks are located in Miyaura, Omishima-cho, Imabari City. The parks, Omishima Wisteria Park and Tsuruhime Park, are located to the east and west of the Imabari City Omishima Museum of Art, respectively. Omishima Wisteria Park is famous for its 300 meters of wisteria trellises and hosts a wisteria festival during the wisteria blooming season. Tsuruhime Park features monuments to Tsurhime, a female warrior often referred to as “the Joan of Arc of Setouchi.”

Visitors can also enjoy seeing the cherry blossoms, hydrangea, Japanese iris, and other seasonal flowers.

The observatory is illuminated at night.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains and of Hirano Bridge, which spans the lake. The park’s attractions include a promenade, playground equipment s, a museum featuring exhibits about the dam and the history of its construction, and more. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor activities such as bass fishing and camping.

They also have a Children’s Great Person Learning Area with documents relating to the individuals on display.

    This park adjacent to the inner sanctuary of Sairinji Temple is located in Minamitakai-machi, Matsuyama City. The waterside park is built around the Jonofuchi spring. The name Jonofuchi originates from a legend about the Buddhist monk Kukai. In addition to waterfronts and rich greenery, the park also features open spaces, gazebos, and other attractions. It is used by local residents as a place for rest and relaxation.
  • Matsuyama City Archaeological Museum

    This museum is located in Minamisayacho, Matsuyama City. It possesses a collection of around 500 relics dating from the Paleolithic era to the Heian period excavated from sites in the Matsuyama Plain. The museum features permanent exhibits with the basic themes of “look,” “listen,” “touch,” and “think.” This includes hands-on exhibits such as earthenware that visitors can touch. The museum also holds several special exhibits each year.

Stretched across the northwest corner of Shikoku island, Ehime is a nature-rich prefecture boasting beautiful coastlines and a rural center where mountains play host to 26 of the Buddhist temples that make up the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Matsuyama is home to an original post-feudal castle as well as Dogo Onsen, one of the country’s oldest natural hot springs. The northern city of Imabari marks the entrance to the Shimano Kaido, a road that crosses six spectacular bridges and several islands, forming a route between Shikoku and mainland Honshu.
