    This rest area is located within Shodoshima Olive Park in Shodoshima Town, Shodoshima County, Kagawa Prefecture. About 2,000 olive trees and over 130 types of herbs are cultivated here, and the park offers an expansive view of the Seto Inland Sea. The pure white “Greek windmill” and other features give the area a distinctly Mediterranean feel. The site includes a cafe with a wonderful view, as well as the “Olive Museum,” which has a shop that offers various olive-themed goods. There’s also an herb garden and the rocket used in the live-action adaptation of “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” along with a natural hot spring, a craft workshop facility, a lodging facility, and more. The cherry blossoms from late March through early April are gorgeous, and there are night cherry blossom light-up events held as well.

    Approximately 15 minutes by car via Takamatsu-higashi/Shido Interchange. This roadside station is located in Mure Town, Takamatsu City—stage of the Genpei-Yashima battle. The spacious lot includes an information center, a rest area, a seafood restaurant and shops offering local products. Products are displayed for sale in a corner featuring traditional cultural goods, sake, sweets, and Kagawa’s famous Sanuki udon. There are fresh local vegetables too. The seafood restaurant “Jakoya” is self-serve, primarily offering fresh seafood from Seto Inland Sea for a reasonable price.

    There is a big park for the kids to play at the back. You can buy local veges or fruits, or UDON print towels, or other goods. I liked them!

    You’ll find this rest stop along Prefectural Route 13 Miki-Ayakawa Road in Konan Town, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. It’s a popular spot with a natural hot spring that’s perfect for day trips. There’s the “tree bath” made of white cedar, and the “stone bath” made of granite and “Aji” stone. Both are spacious and alternate between men and women on a weekly basis. Inside the building, there’s a souvenir area that has famous items from all over Kagawa Prefecture, as well as a restaurant, a morning market that sells fresh vegetables and flowers, and more. Visitors can enjoy the waterfront scenery year-round at the nearby Okami Water Park.

    おみやげショップ、レストラン、軽食コーナーのほか産直施設で野菜や魚介類も販売していました。特に、讃岐うどんと麺つゆは豊富にありました。空港に近いので搭乗までの時間調整に日帰り温泉を利用しました。浴場は広々として開放感があり、大浴槽、立湯、打たせ湯、足湯、サウナ、水風呂、低温風呂などバラエティーが豊富で、露天風呂はジャグジーになっていました。温泉は弱アルカリ性で、肌にしっとりとなじんで癒されました。

    Roadside Station Takarada no sato Saita has accommodation, a hot spring facility, a shop, and a park golf course. Its shop is packed with fresh regional produce and it hosts regular events when it fills with tourists. In 2015 it was selected as one of the 38 important roadside stations by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

    香川県境の財田町、道路沿いにあった道の駅に立ち寄ります。 残念ながら売店部分はお休み、それ以外のうどん屋さんなどは営業。 何よりも驚いたのが敷地の広さ、施設の中には温泉や宿泊施設のほかにうどん打ちの体験ができる施設などいろいろそろっています。ゆっくり楽しめていいですね。

    This roadside station on National Route 11 features a statue of Ao-oni-kun, Kagawa's ogre mascot. Located in Tsuda no Matsubara (Kinrin Park), which is part of a national park, they sell marine products such as locally produced dried sardines and chirimen fish, as well as local Tsuda items like ginger sugar. We also recommend stopping by their laid-back udon shop for a hearty serving of noodles.

    琴林公園のついでに訪れましたが、さして特徴のない道の駅ですが、土産物や地産品などは置かれてました。うどんも人気があるようです。

    This roadside station is packed with facilities like a local specialty products hall, an indoor swimming pool, and a natural hot spring bathhouse that provides accommodation. A mask of a mythical shishi lion greets you at the entrance of their shop. Its popular, original boysenberry soft serve ice cream is made with local Mitoyo grown fruit. It has all kinds of Kagawa specialty items like manju buns, Sanuki udon, and honetsuki-dori roasted bone-in chicken.

    道の駅は通常、国道沿いなど交通量の多い道路際にあるのが普通ですが、この道の駅は山の中にあります。 四国８８箇所７１番礼所・弥谷寺の前、この寺をまわるのに駐車場にもなります。 弥谷寺は山登りのしんどい寺なので、この道の駅は一息入れるのもいいところです。

    This roadside station is situated on the coast of Utazu. The facilities on its 6.5 hectare grounds include a hotel, square, activity center, and walking path. From the park, visitors can enjoy spectacular scenery, including the Shiwaku Islands, said to be the most beautiful in Setonaikai National Park; the sun setting on the Seto Inland Sea; and the Great Seto Bridge lit up at night. Because of its superb location, the station’s park has also been designated a Lover's Sanctuary and is a popular date destination. A reconstructed naturally flooded saltpan for making salt is located in front of the station building, and visitors can take part in an activity here and actually try making salt themselves (advance reservation required).

    A roadside station situated along the way to the Okuboji Temple, the last temple on 88 sacred places on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. To the north of the station is the shore of the lake created by Maeyama Dam; mountains stretch away to the south. The station sells an abundant variety of fresh legumes and beans and products which make great gifts and souvenirs, such as red peas, black soybeans, and red kidney beans. There's also a shop selling other local products.

    Roadside Station Toyohama is located as you enter western Kagawa Prefecture not far from the border of Ehime Prefecture. Its lookout area has a great view where you can watch a gorgeous sunset over the Seto Inland Sea. This roadside station has all kinds of delicious fare. Its eatery serves sashimi from fish caught nearby, rice bowl dishes, Sanuki udon, and more. Stop by their shop to try wasanbon oiri soft serve ice cream, a local favorite.

    A roadside station which serves as a convenient base from which to explore the Shionoe hot spring village. Visitors can take in the beauty of mountains and forests where fireflies appear in the center of Shionoe Onsen. The station's tourist information and local specialty products center sells local specialties like shiitake mushrooms, Japanese pickles, famous Shionoe teas, and bamboo work crafts. There's also a light meal corner and convenient electric vehicle charging station.

    This roadside station is located in Shodoshima Island's north-central region. About 40 stones are still on the site from when it was quarried for the expansion and repair of Osaka Castle's stone walls by the Tokugawa Shogunate. A museum showcases the stones and the tools used to transport them. The facility also has a shop and a café, making it a good spot for tourists to drop by while out for a drive.

    道路から見える飛行機はフジエアロスバルでしょうか？少なくとも昔はそうだったと思います。私が大学生だった40年前から、飛行機はあったと思います。道の駅というか市場の建物は比較的新しいですね。午前中に行きましたが、新鮮野菜がたくさん。また、メダカもいたので欲しかったのですが、これから高知県に行くので、もし帰りに寄ることができたら、と少し後ろ髪ひかれる気持ちで・・・。
