Choshikei Gorge is one of Shodoshima Island's top scenic areas, in the same league as Kankakei Gorge. You can encounter more than 500 monkeys that inhabit the valley at their Monkey Park and try feeding them under the caretaker's watchful gaze. There's a lookout above the gorge with a 360-degree view.

I went here twice in 2010 and 2003 and it was better before because the surroundings were more natural. Later on, it looks more close to a zoo. The monkeys are free to roam around the side of a...

    Kagawa Pref. Higashikagawashi Matsubara 2111
Shirotori Zoo was established in 1985 in Higashikagawa City, Kagawa Prefecture. It is popular as a place where visitors can enjoy getting close to the animals without being hindered by cages and fences normally found at other zoos. Other popular attractions include the impressive white tiger display, the Wanwan Plaza where visitors can play with unusual breeds of dog, and a stage with animal shows, etc.

Kagawa Areas

around-area-map

Japan's smallest prefecture, Kagawa, may take up just a small corner of Shikoku, but it has grown increasingly popular with the recognition of Naoshima, its "art island" in the Seto Inland Sea between Shikoku and Honshu. Just a stone's throw from the islands, mainland Kagawa's prefectural capital, Takamatsu, holds history in its castle ruins and its pride and joy, Ritsurin Garden, is known as one of the country's best gardens.
