The grounds of the temple, which is known as the patron shrine of competitions and wishes, contain around 10,000 manekineko (lucky cat figures) that have been offered to the temple. A famous legend about a bakeneko (a cat spirit from Japanese folklore) has been passed down at the shrine for more than 330 years since the late 1600s. It is one of the three most famous of such legends in Japan, with the other two being from Arima and Nabeshima."

- This shrine is Japan’s best shrine for getting rid a possession by an inugami (dog spirit). It is also known for answering prayers for recovery from illness and family well-being. It is notable for ritual prayers passed down for generations that use kinpei (a ritual wand with golden paper streamers) and for the vocalization methods used to recite them. The path to the main shrine building, which built as if it was linked with the mountain, offers some truly sublime views.

地図を頼りに参拝したら忌部神社までずいぶん遠回りしたような感じでした。どうも金刀比羅神社の裏手から登っていけそうな感じでしたが、西側の霊神社を経由して参拝しました。

鳴門駅から徒歩15分。 1603年に八幡神、山王神、金刀比羅神を勧請して創建。祭神は誉田別神、大物主神、大山咋神、大山祗神。参道には奉納された石灯籠が立ち並んでいる。現拝殿は昭和58年築の鉄筋コンクリート造。本堂は木造だが、古いものには見えないので拝殿と同時期に再建されたのかもしれない。拝殿前には赤く塗られた木製のおみくじ販売機があり、料金は20円と格安。きちんと動くかどうか不安だったが、10円玉...

口コミがあり訪れましたが、特別に取り上げるようなものはありません。どこにでもあるような地元の神社ではないでしょうか。静かな佇まいの中にあり、町指定の天然記念物の夫婦杉がありました。
