巨大なアリーナのドームが遠くから見えて印象的な施設。アリーナの一角にはこの公園ができるまでの沿革についての展示があった。各種スポーツ施設が集まり、広大なグリーンエリア、臨海の親水エリアがあった。広い駐車場もあった。ただ、スポーツ、イベント、散歩、デート等の目的がなければ、ただ広いだけ、と思ってしまったのが正直なところ。

山口市の中心、役所や博物館、学校などの公共施設に囲まれた公園。かつて銅像が立っていた丘の頂上だけでなく、北東の麓にもそこそこの規模がある子供用の遊具やテニスコートなどが広がっていた。丘の上に登るのは少し骨が折れるが、街の中心部のオアシス的施設だと思った。

万年池西コースでプレーしました。シンプルに、ティーグラウンドからピンが見えるホールが多いので、気分的には楽です。起伏はありますが、カートで移動ですし、コースに入ることも出来ます（状況に寄りますが）気持ちよくプレー出来ました。
