    岩国城ロープウェイ乗り場の前にある施設です。 岩国名物のシロヘビを展示しています。 こじんまりとした施設ですが、解説は多く、意外と見応えはあります。 入場料も安いのでとりあえず入ってみるといいと思います。

    Yamaguchi Yanai-shi Yanaitsu Kanaya 439
A musueum located within the Shirakabe Townscape, a Nation's Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings. The museum occupies the former mansion of the Oda family, one of the leading oil merchants in west Japan. The house features Irimoya (hip-and-gable) roof with an entrance on gable side and white plaster walls. With a length of nearly 120-meters and covering an area of 800-tsubo (nearly 2650 square meters) this mansion is one of the largest classic townhouses remaining within the country. Within the mansion are a number of classic living implements and documents showing off the lifestyle of a prosperous Yanai merchant.

Yamaguchi Oshima-gun Suooshima Cho Kuka 1102-1
"""Machishu culture"" is the culture of the common people built up in the Kuka area, which was a part of the industrial structure from the middle ages to early modern period. The Yahata Lifelong Learning Village is a learning facility with a library, pottery museum and early Showa period farmhouse as a base for handing down the culture of the town. Visitors can learn about unique urban planning and culture through the exhibition of tools and daily necessities used by soy sauce brewers, ship builders, blacksmiths and others. In addition to regular pottery classes, the museum also offers one-day pottery workshops such as forming pottery by hand instead of using a potter's wheel, slab building, and making a pottery lathe."

This museum has a very nice collection. It is worth seeing, but unfortunately, the descriptions is only written in japanese so you might want to ask your friends for translation.

Yamaguchi Areas

Heading west along Japan’s largest island, Honshu, the very last prefecture you’ll reach is Yamaguchi, separated from Kyushu by a small strip of water known as the Kanmon Straits, which the far-reaching harbor city Shimonoseki looks over. With water at every turn, the seafood of Yamaguchi is an indisputable highlight, and we’re not talking just the usual fish dishes - the notorious fugu, or puffer fish, is a Japanese delicacy that was discovered in Yamaguchi prefecture, making it the best place to try it out.
