    A daifuku (sweet bean pasted-stuffed rice cake) shop located in Innoshima Ohashi Park on Innoshima Island in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The shop’s Hassaku daifuku, an Onomichi specialty, are particularly renowned, and fans from around the country come here to enjoy them. Hassaku daifuku have a fresh flavor and are made Hassaku oranges stocked from contract farms on Innoshima Island and Ikuchi-jima Island wrapped in shiroan white bean jam covered with mochi glutinous rice. The shop also sells a variety of other fruit daifuku such as seasonal strawberry and grape daifuku. The shop has an eat-in space with free coffee and a view of Innoshima-ohashi Bridge.

    A café standing on the southern coast of Mukaishima Island in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture which offers a superb view of the surrounding calm ocean and mountains. The café’s spacious garden is dotted with palm trees and has benches and a foot bath for visitors, creating a carefree, leisurely atmosphere. The interior is bright and outfitted with lots of wood in natural colors. Healthy, nutritionally balanced, and incorporating vegetables grown on the island, the café’s set meals and other lunch options are highly regarded. The café also used pieces created by local potters for tableware, and you can purchase bowls and dishes that catch your eye in the adjoining shop.

    A small chocolate workshop and café located on Mukaishima Island in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Chocolatl operates on the second floor of Tachibana Shizen Katsuyo-mura, a building resembling an old fashioned public hall standing on a hill looking out over the sea. The shop’s vaunted chocolates, carefully prepared gems of deliciousness, are made without milk or butter, only sugar and cacao. People love the simple and basic flavor, and the shop’s chocolates fill the mouth with the taste of carefully selected cacao beans. From bean selection to chocolate making and packaging, everything is performed by hand. The shop’s fashionable café, illuminated by sunlight pouring in from outside, serves not only fresh-made chocolates but also drinks such as hot chocolate.

    創業100年のパン屋さん。なんといってもご主人のおばちゃんの人柄がいい。非常に気さくで話好きで本当に自分のおばあちゃんと話してるようで気分が和む。それだけでも行く価値あり。パンはアンパン、ねじりパン、メロンパンの3種類とサイダー、ラムネが購入できます。このサイダーもいいです。ラムネも買いたかったけどサイダーもラムネも結構な値段なので断念。なんか懐かしく心がなごむよいお店です。

    This bakery shop is located a seven-minute walk from the Habu Port Passenger Terminal. Identifiable by its old-fashioned, faded yellow canvas awning, the shop makes original breads which have even been featured on television. The shop’s Neji Pan (twist bread) is particularly popular; the vaunted and exquisite bread has a fluffy, chewy texture and is covered with a heaping helping of granulated sugar. The crispy curry bread is also highly popular and it’s not unusual for these tasty breads to sell out before noon.

    This Japanese restaurant is situated on the Shiomachi Shopping Street connecting Setoda Port and the Kousanji Temple. Here customers can enjoy conger eel, octopus, and other fresh seafood delights from the Seto Inland Sea. Conger eels are caught across Japan, but the conger eels which grow in the plankton-rich Seto Inland Sea are exceptionally fat and delicious. The restaurant takes particular pride in its exquisite conger eel hako sushi (box-pressed sushi), made with a secret recipe sauce passed down through the generations; this delicious sushi is also available for takeout. Inside the restaurant, there is a fish preserve filled with healthy conger eels swimming around.

    あなご丼とたこ丼を頼みました。あなごは歯ごたえがあり、ふわふわ柔らかというよりぷりぷりでした。たこはとっても柔らかくて食べやすかったです。味もちょうどよく、食べやすかったです。お味噌汁は関東の人にはちょっぴりちょっぴり濃いなぁと感じるかもしれません。12時を過ぎるとお客さんが続々と来ていたので、少し前に行った方がいいかもしれません。

    This cafe adjoins the Hill Of Hope, a white marble art park spanning 5,000 square meters. The park and cafe were made using white marble from Carrara in Italy and were designed and named by sculptor Itto Kuetani. The cafe employs a semi-self-serve system in which customers place an order at the cafe’s entrance and bring their own order to their table. Inside, the cafe looks as if it belongs in Italy’s Tuscany region, making its authentic espresso taste even more exceptional. The cafe also offers many unique, regionally-inspired selections, such as lemon squash made with Setoda lemons, and summer mikan sherbet.

Located a three-minute walk from the Kousanji Temple, it can be identified by its undulating roof and stately, traditional kura storehouse-inspired exterior. The shop’s Mishima Manju buns consist of a thin outer dough stuffed with sweet bean paste. The flat, steamed buns have an elliptical shape and a faint sake aroma. The shop’s signature product, the Manju buns are officially provided to the Kousanji Temple. Other confections made by the shop include silky lemon cakes, chestnut manju buns, and dorayaki pancake sandwiches.
