Hiroshima Pref. Hiroshimashinakaku Nakajimachou 1

A monument in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in the city of Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture; as large numbers of paper cranes are hung here year round, it is also known as the “Tower of the Thousand Paper Cranes.” The model for the figure on the top of the monument was Sadako Sasaki, a girl who died at the age of 12 due to leukemia from the atomic bombing. After her death, fund-raising efforts around the country gathered money to build the monument in 1958 to comfort the souls of children who lost their lives to the bomb and to pray for world peace. The monument is visited by many tourists as well as students on field trips.

This pork bone ramen restaurant is located approximately a six-minute walk from Hondori Station on the Hiroshima Electric Railway. You can taste Shiromaru Motoaji (original pork-bone broth served with thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, etc.), offered since its founding, and Akamaru Shinaji (original pork-bone broth with special blended spicy miso paste and fragrant garlic oil) made with original scented oil. The stylish interior has counter seating and table seating. It is visited by many guests for lunchtime and after a night drinking.

Tried this while visiting Hiroshima and the taste was consistent with the Sapporo branch I tried couple of days ago. The egg with rice had a slightly bigger portion here though.

A park sprawling across Hijiyama. Situated on a small hill, from the park's observatory visitors can get a sweeping view of Hiroshima City and the Seto Inland Sea. Known as an arts park, park facilities include the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, whose building design was inspired by traditional Japanese kura storehouses; and the Hiroshima City Manga Library, a library dedicated to manga comic books. The grounds are also dotted with sculptures. A renowned destination for cherry blossom viewing, as well, during the blooming season in spring the park bustles with visitors come to view the scenery created by the park's approximately 1,300 cherry trees.

A patisserie and cafe on the first floor of an apartment block in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The stylish shop is hard to miss with its red awnings and wooden doors. The white interior has a bright and airy feel. The cake display is full of lots of cakes and sweets made with seasonal fruits such as strawberry, melon and peach. There is seating inside in the relaxed eat-in area and outside on the terrace surrounded by greenery. The shop also serves coffee, tea and alcohol. Customers can enjoy a sophisticated tea time in this pleasant patisserie and cafe, like an oasis in the city.

This day-use hot spring bathhouse is located on the east side of Yuki-cho, an area known as the “salon of Hiroshima.” The public bathhouse is situated deep inside a hot spring health resort area established by the lord of Hiroshima Domain in 1750. The bathhouse is famous for its cascade bath; unlike almost any other bathhouse in the Chugoku region, it has streams of cold water from source spring pouring down from four meters overhead for bathers. The waters of the indoor bath is heated to 41° C, and many customers like to work up a sweat here before cooling off using the cascade bath, then coming back to the indoor bath again.

駐車場の矢印に従って行くとトイレしかない！思い直して駐車場の入り口から山手を見上げるとビルの上に湯の山温泉の文字が。えー！あそこまで登るんか？と言いたくなるほどきつい坂を登って行くとたどり着く。素朴な鉄筋の建物の温泉施設だが、すぐ裏の山から湧き出す源泉から引くので新鮮そのものの湯である。
