    Okayama Okayama-shi Kita-ku Nodayacho 1-3-3
This indoor private market is about a five-minute walk from Okayama Station on Nishigawa-Ryokudokoen-suji Street. The whole first floor of the building is taken up by the market, and there are fresh produce and seafood shops, as well as cafes and restaurants. They also have regular events, which draw crowds of customers. It began in 1946 as Okayama Market, and was made to offer an alternative to the post-war black market where people could buy in safety. It currently not only serves as a food wholesale point, but also distributes the safe, secure taste of Okayama to private customers.

    岡山のビル市場へ訪問しました。 閑散としていました。 利用客が少ないようです。 西川緑道公園の桜がきれいでした。

Okayama Areas

around-area-map

Overshadowed by Hiroshima to the west and the Kansai region to the east, Okayama is an easy spot to miss but a nature-rich gem where the Seto Inland Sea laps at its toes and peach and grape farms complete its interior. One of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, Koraku-en in Okayama city is well worth a visit before progressing to Kurashiki, where preserved wooden Edo buildings line the picturesque canal.
