    The white lighthouse stands at the westernmost tip of the Shimane Peninsula, 63.3 meters above sea level, making it the tallest lighthouse in Japan. 480,000 candela of light illuminates 40 km offshore. The site is located at the tip of a promontory that extends out into the Sea of Japan, making it a beautiful spot for viewing the sunset.
