Tottori Pref. Saihakugunnambuchou Tsuruda 110

One of the largest flower parks in Japan, located in Nanbu Town, Saihaku County, Tottori Prefecture. The park’s spacious grounds, commanding a view of Mt. Daisen, are host to the Flower Dome, a 50 meter in diameter, 21 meter tall giant greenhouse; a European garden; a gigantic 10 thousand square meter garden; and aquatic flower beds; and visitors can enjoy flowers year round. There’s also a one kilometer long viewing gallery circuit with a roof, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the park’s flowers in comfort even on rainy days. The park also has a shop and restaurant where you can enjoy local cuisine such as Japanese pear soft serve ice cream and Daisen G Beer. The park also holds periodic night illumination events.

The Shoji Ueda Museum of Photography showcases the works of world-famous photographer Shoji Ueda, who was born in Tottori Prefecture. Ueda’s photographs of subjects set against the backdrop of the San’in region’s big skies and imposing sand-dunes won renown as the “Ueda-cho” (“Ueda style”). There is plenty to see at the Museum, including the pond, which reflects an inverted image of Mt. Daisen, and the Museum Cinema, which is decorated with the world’s largest camera lens. The Museum Shop sells an extensive range of souvenir gifts.

The museum design attracts us to place a visit. We saw many beautiful photos taken by Mr. Shoji Ueda. There is photo-shooting spots that attracts many visitors - the water reflection of Mt. Daisen.

This general outdoors facility is located in Daisen Town, Saihaku County, Tottori Prefecture. Situated amidst the magnificence of Mt. Daisen’s natural scenery, this facility contains western Japan’s biggest field athletics camp, a dog park, about 20 different types of playground equipment available for rental, a food court, a barbecue area, and more. There are also interactive nature tours, an ice cream-making experience using Daisen milk, and other casual activities. Everyone from children to adults can enjoy spending the day basking in the beautiful outdoors.

I was previledged to join as a guide volunteer for the skiing camp. The staff are professionals keeping to time schedules and they always listen therefore nothing hardly goes wrong. Had so much fun...

This ski resort is one of the largest in Western Japan and consists of four areas called Kokusai, Goenzan, Naka-no-hara, and Ue-no-hara. The resort offers slopes with an ocean view. If you look down from the lift, you can see the Japan sea and the Oki Islands. There are nine styles of slopes that can be enjoyed from beginners to advanced skiers. Also, there is a kid’s area called “Taka-piyo” land that can be enjoyed by families with children.

初心者向けコースはちょうど良い緩さで、リフト待ちの時間も短いのでお薦めです。自分は今回滑ってないですが競技会ができる位のコースもありますし、また行きたいです。

"A 15-minute drive from the Yonago Interchange on the Yonago Expressway. In this museum, situated at the foot of Mt. Daisen, visitors can learn about the history and plant and animal life of Mt. Daisen, a designated national park. The history, culture, and diverse seasonal plants and animals of the mountain are introduced on the first floor. Since ancient times, Mt. Daisen has been an object of worship, and through dioramas and projection mapping, visitors can experience the history and culture of the mountain and surrounding area. The second floor presents the story behind ""Japan's Largest Livestock Market Born of Jizou Bodhisattva Worship,"" which was included in the Japan Heritage list in 2016."

This spa is located 10 minutes from the Daisenkogen Smart Interchange on the Yonago Expressway. The spa has a day-use bathhouse with a hot spring tub and outdoor bath, and a heated pool area where swimsuits are required. The spa's Yukihada Sauna, the San'in region's first cold sauna, beautifies and tightens the skin. Kept between 1 and 4° C, the sauna is less stressful on the body than more traditional cold water bath therapies. The waters of the bathhouse' alkaline simple spring are drawn up from 1,150 meters underground and are said to have a refreshing effect and to treat nerve pain and sensitivity to cold.

This national park spans the three prefectures of Tottori, Shimane and Okayama and consists of the four regions of the mountainous area from Mt. Daisen to Mt. Hiruzen and Mt. Mitoku, the coastal region of the Shimane Peninsula, Mt. Sanbe area, and the Oki Islands. The park is gaining popular with mountain climbers because of its many famous mountains such as the highest peak in the Chugoku region, Mt. Daisen and Mt. Sanbe which is characterized by its varied landscapes. In addition, the area is visited by many worshippers making the pilgrimage to many historical sites surrounded in myth dotting the area such as Izumo Taisha Shrine and Hinomisaki-jinja Shrine. There are many campsites, camps, climbing roads, and information centers in the area, and it is used as the base for sightseeing and climbing. The Daisen Information Center provides multilingual brochures.

Whether it's your first time on a horse or you're an expert, this riding club is open to riders of all levels. They also have a cafe restaurant and a cottage to help you enjoy your riding experience to the maximum. For beginners they recommend a plan where staff leads the horse by a tether. Children two to five years old can ride with their parents, and they provide help mounting and dismounting. Once you get used to it, you can set out on their trekking course over mountain trails and roads. Practice with the reins inside the riding area, and then a guide will accompany you for worry-free horseback riding while enjoying the view.

This farm is one of the largest growers of dwarf apples in western Japan. Dwarf apple trees are kept growing low to the ground, making it easy even for children to pick their apples. In most years, the farm offers apple picking from late August to late November. The farm grows a variety of apple cultivars for customers to enjoy, including highly sweet Tsugaru; juicy Senshu; equally sweet and tart Jonagold; and Fuji, the most widely grown apple in the world. Customers rave that picking the farms tasty apples, grown ripe amidst the area's abundant natural beauty, is fun for the whole family.

This tourist fruit picking farm sprawls at the foot of majestic Mt. Daisen. The farm grows a variety of blueberry cultivars amidst the area's lush greenery and clean, fresh air. Visitors can enjoy time unlimited, all-you-can-eat blueberries. Come savor deliciously sweet and tart fresh-picked blueberries to your heart's content. The farm also offers packs you can use to take blueberries home with you in large, medium, and small sizes, as well as an extra-large bucket (limited to customers picking one kilogram of berries or more. The farm is open to visitors from mid-June to late September. During this time, the farm also offers a jam making activity in which you can make jam using your own fresh-picked blueberries.

This tourist farm is the largest in Daisen Town, which is famous for its abundance of blueberry farms. The farm cultivates a wide variety of blueberries, from early to late ripening cultivars, ensuring that visitors can enjoy blueberry picking here across an extended part of the year. In most years, the farm offers blueberry picking from mid-June to early September. You can purchase either a smaller pack or larger bucket at the reception area, which governs the quantity blueberries you can pick; with the larger bucket, you can pick over two kilograms of blueberries. The farm grows some 4,500 blueberry plants spanning 26 varieties on its two hectare grounds, giving visitors the chance to try and compare a wide range of different blueberry cultivars.

"This private art museum is located at the foot of Mt. Daisen, the San'in region's most famous mountain. Surrounded by the area's abundant natural beauty, the museum displays a collection of artwork gathered with an eye towards ""the creation of mountain culture"" and ""the promotion of regional culture."" The museum's standing exhibition consists of oil paintings created based on the theme of natural mountain beauty. Visitors can take in works of art by artists such as mountain painter Genichiro Adachi and Seiji Yabase, Tottori's most celebrated Western-style painter, depicting the local area and Mt. Daisen influenced by each artists' sensibilities. In the adjoining Sabo Monterosa cafe, you can enjoy the director's vaunted handmade soba noodles made with spring water from Mt. Daisen. The cafe's coffee, made with underground spring water from Mt. Daisen, is perfect for a little break after taking in the museum."

The park's beautiful greenery and clear mountain stream create a stunningly refreshing contrast, and in the summer you'll find many families here enjoying fun in the river.

A municipal art museum that exhibits about 250 works collected by Rinzo Satake, a native of Nichinan Town and the founder of Sakura Cray-Pas. The museum makes the town's art and culture accessible to all. The displays focus on modern painting and sculptures by artists like Ryuzaburo Umehara, Gyokudo Kawai, and Takeshi Hayashi . They also exhibit designs and Western-style paintings by Toshio Ashiba, also from Nichinan Town. The museum holds a variety of children's workshops as well as an art class for adults where pastel crayon techniques are taught by a professional artist.
