- Daisen Masumizu Highlands is an upland area located in the western foothills of Mt. Daisen. During the summer and autumn months, the views from the “Expanse Lift” chairlift which ascends gently up the slope of the Masumizu Highlands are spectacular, and from the Observation Deck at the top visitors can view the Shimane Peninsula, the Yumigahama Peninsula, and the Sea of Japan. The Daisen Masumizu Highlands have been selected for inclusion in the Lovers’ Sanctuary Project list of romantic places to propose marriage.
