    BIRD Theatre is located around 30 minutes' drive from the Tottori Nishi Interchange of the San-In Expressway; it is the base for BIRD Theatre Company Tottori, which was founded by Tottori-born director Nakashima Makoto, and which transformed an abandoned elementary school and kindergarten in the Shikano-cho district of Tottori City into a theatre. Besides creating new theatrical works and presenting them at the theatre, BIRD Theatre Company Tottori also collaborates with leading Japanese and international theatre troupes, dancers and musicians to provide high-quality stage performances. In addition, the company organizes a range of special programs-including workshops and lectures-to help the general public experience the joy and mystery of theatre.
